Nope. It's British, from the 1770's, and it saw limited (but very effective) use in the American Revolution. It was not adopted into general use due to the complexity and cost to manufacture.

I've always thought this gun was cool, might be too well known though.

It differs from the Striker in that it does not have the winding key for the magazine, and I also do not believe that the Striker has the ejector rod.
