Israel (Hebrew) :
Formal : Ah'alan; Shalom
Informal : Ah'alan; Shalom; Ma Kore? (Means "whats going on?", yes you can actually come to a person you never met and ask him that without any form of a premature greeting. and to that question you can answer by "Hey" or "Hi" or "Shalom"
Israelis and common manners are stranger to one another, formallaties are usually rare and unless you are in something very offical you speak to strangers as if they were your friends.

Austria should be roughly the same, just better of course...

but we spell sers different to u germans ^^
a guy from vianna may say Servus, an upper austrian may say zewas or seas or servas
you could write a whole book about how austrians say Servus
