Epic games inventory connection problem

Hello everyone.

I play the game through Epic Games. Since the start of the last update I have been recieving problem with inventory. When I run the game, inventory is empty (but after minute or so it loads). Today I get same problem but also I get message that there is no connection to items server. I waited for some time and I keep getting same message and empty inventory.
My ingmae name also does not load (it shows name as "Player")

It happens on all platforms,
they are still investigating the problem to resolve it,

At the moment the only thing is to wait a few moments in the main menu and wait for the player image to load completely,
immediately after you can access the inventory, otherwise restart the game.

Not aware of this being a wide spread issue at this time, but most likely the cause is an issue with the client having trouble reaching the item server backend which is often caused by security software/hardware (such as a firewall/router) throttling or blocking the connection, and it can also happen at a more global ISP/governmental level at time.
