Crysis 2 ZOMG SPECULATION!

Strange times we live in... The lines are becoming blurred, more blurred by the day. On the one hand, healthy communities generating user-made content are a symptom of a game's success. However, developer over-reliance on this and abuse of good-will may easily make the sweet fruit turn sour.

On the other hand, lack of strong communities make games stale and reliance on in-house DLC only should be, arguably, seen as detrimental to the customer.

And now we get this, devs simply not deigning it prudent to stoop so low as to fix a flaw with their game. Had they been expecting this all along? That it would be fixed by the pirates eating into their profits? Had those voracious pirates been calculated into the marketing model and a conscious decision had been made at some point to actually include the pirates' support into the scheme?

Strange times we live in.
