Level Design Cross of Iron RO-Map

So here are some screens of my upcoming map.The name of the map is not yet set. But Im working from the movie " Cross of Iron" from 1977 Stieners platoon get run over by a russian offensive and so on...

Russian attack a 3 german defens line, then the last objective will inside a factory where the germans trying to hold it.

Russian will have tanks( how many is not yet set, for now its 3). Tank crew will only have pistols and they can drive over barbwire fence and trench. And they can drive into the factory... but will be easy target for sappers and panzarfaust inside.
Germans will not have tanks... maby I digg down 1 panzer for a " AT-GUN possition" cuz we dont have any ant tank guns in RO yet! :(

And there is artillery to.

But the map is still in working progress as you might see from some screens

Well if you do the Outside Area of the Factory in the same superb Way as the Trench Part it will certainly be good. Nice Atmosphere in the Woods :)

I only recommend thinking about axing some Trees, since you don't want to many in an Area where your dug in, since all those Trees generate a lot of splinters hurting your Man, when Artillery falls. Though on a fastly done Defensework this is okay.

Sideinfo:
The Trenchwork shown in the Map LyesKrovy could be build within one Day, by normal Soldiers supervised by a few Pioniers/Engineers. So this could be hastly build.

If you decide to remove Trees, leave some Tree Stumps as additional Cover.

Looks promicing m8 keep it up...........oh by the way though, will it be a bit bigger ala film with perhaps a small depresson inbetween ( not quite a vally but significant all the same from the russian spawn point?) .
Perhaps even a single german machine gun to cover the Russian aproach @ the top of the hill of course the russains will have a sniper to sort him out :).......................something to think about m8 though...........over to you.......:)

ok heres a tip to making better trenches. make a new terrain info and depending on how long you plan to make the trenches you can use a 64x64 or 128x128 and scale it down to half it size ( for more detail) you can then vertex edit where your thench is going to be. once your done with the trench you decide where your going to place it. next step is using visibility from terrain aditor to make the room for you trench terrain mesh. next you place it in place and try to blend them together as best you can and there you got some bavoska trenches. trust me...:D

the number of tanks is not set could be 1 or 3.
somthing that will come when I play test the map.

there will be some fog so the tanks will have limit sight.

also I thinking of adding some more smoke, but that might eat up the FPS.

Hmm I might recommend having it a bit darker outside, perhaps raining?, and try to add some background sound of planes flying over. I might just list some recomendations.

-do a trench high above or behind the factory and put some morters there
-Destructable doors in the factory since you can't blast the wall like the tank from the movie
-more bomb craters
If you don't have them already, put in a lot of wooden baracades into the trenches
-and last but not least, include Steiner and his platoon :D ;)
