Cant start

When I try and start the game I get the little splash screen then the whole screen goes black as if its about to start...but it stays black and nothing happens, cant tab out, cant alt+ctrl+delete, have the manually reboot the whole system.

Usually in those cases its a firewall blocking your system or something, try manually adding the ball to the exceptions list of your firewall and virus scanner.

not sure if this will helps. but try to verify game files by going to your steam games " library" and right click on the ball. go properties then local files. then click on Verify Integrity of game cache.
wait till its fiinshed and if the game needs to download missing file it will. and when finished.Start The game. i hope this will work for you.

another thing to make sure of is that if you ever ran the game before that you didnt set the resolution higher than your monitor supports. You can reset all user settings by deleting the the ball directory in the my documents / my games location.

There is a log file in My Documents\My Games\The Ball\UDKGame\Logs. It is called Launch.log, open it in notepad and paste its content here.
