proper magazine disposal

Of course, mate. Waaay more stupid.
Let play a small game, eh?
You tell me one FPS that apply your half-magazine reloading, I tell you 3 FPS that dont have that feature. And are successful games.

Heck, the very first advice of playing a gun-involved game is, reload ASAP, because you dont know what's coming next. Having 10 mag with 10~20 bullets each vs having 3~4 full mag, which one is better? I'd rather die with my hand on the trigger, than die reloading.

Fully agree on this, even though I ve started to hate crosshairs lately, I wouldstill prefer a liuttle annoyance as crosshair anystime over huge annoyance of uber-realism in the goodamn RELOADING

this is in no way war or shooting simulator so please keep these ˝ideas˝ of off this sinnce I am 100% sure that 90% of people or more would hate it very much

just horrible idea, post this in Americas army or something

Stupider than asking for crosshairs instead of using the iron sights?

Iron sights are cool. They look cool. They feel cool. They jump and let you enjoy your gun porn. And every gun has them. Every last one.

Even the flamethrower.

Your idea isn't fun, visually appealing and only applies to certain guns - two thirds of which make up some of the weaker weapons.

lol, dumb much?

didnt you understand his point

heres is what he meant to say:
having crosshairs is a horribly dumb idea, but having mag disposal is even stupider

lmfao reading comprehension much, you were attacking him when he agrees with you that crosshairs suck

@Meismenotyou: exactly right

@ Widowmaker, I understand we both would like some realism every now and then to enhance gun-porn, but it adds one more gameplay element to the game thich everyone might not be prepared to deal with. But it is always something to suggest for the next KF game if there is one (not too soon I hope). That crosshair comparison made me laugh, because I know some little guy who suggested it a few months ago. He left the KF forums before I got to comment on it, though. He used to call people who didn't agree with him "children" and was very condescending towards everyone. It was fun read afterwards. I guess he didn't like the lack of crosshair because it seems he quit KF... (forum search for Blackwing Dragon will make it all clear :D)

@ emotion666, stop calling people dumb. Makes you look arrogant. He obviously missed the point, but I guess he just wanted to say how he feels about the crosshair suggestion. :p

@everyone: Anyway, I think the crosshair discussion should be buried deep in somewhere where the sun never gets a chance to shine, so let's go back on topic.

Currently the magazine/clip/counter shows the ammunition as X/Y where:
X= Amount of bullets loaded in the weapon
Y= amount of magazines/clips/cartridges/bullets left rounded up.

So if you have 243 bullets left for bullpup with a full clip (lvl 5 commando), it will show it as 50/4, which is the result of "(243-50)/4" rounded up.

I see it as a high enough accuracy, but I usually start ammo conservation early. :)

So, apparently I misunderstood that the original poster thinks magazine disposal is stupider than crosshairs?

Despite the fact that magazine disposal is his idea?

Um, yeah, OK buddy.

Wrong, dude. Some time, the last clip got like 10 bullets or so, which is realy frustrated if you're facing a bunch of gorefast.

Um, easy solution: When you see 50/1 (or whatever/1) assume you have less than 50 bullets in that last magazine, problem solved. If you ever see 50/1 you already know you're more or less out of ammo and should be preparing to swap to a new gun.

nah, I dont like it

but seeing how many bullets I have left instead of mag number (which doesnt tell you accurate ammount of bullets you have left) would be a good addition

for example instead of seeing 50/9 on a full bullpup, it should say 50/450

because its really not funny when you have 50/1, thinking you got another mag, but you really just have 2 or 3 more bullets
I'll second that

This is Killing Floor, not Red Orchestra.
We're not going for super realism here.

Yeah I was going to mention that too. RO is the only game I played that actually keeps bullet counts in each mag recycled. Another feature I love in the game.
But for KF, it wouldn't matter too much...unless if you have the time to go prone (which you cannot) and recycle the mags one by one.
But I do agree with OP in that it'll make suicidal much more challenging.

Silly gamers. This has already been addressed on the Steam Forums. It's a magic belt. First off, you notice when you put your Katana away, it goes on your right side, but you draw it from your left?

Here's what's happening.

Your belt isn't just any ordinary belt, it's a conveyor belt. Yes, you put the sword away on your right. But while you're using your guns, your sword is slowly meandering around your waist, stopping at the left side for you to draw it again.

It's a standard in all FPS games. The conveyor belt also automatically grabs any discarded magazines, removes any remaining bullets and replenish your other mags.
Can't leave home without it!

And since you can't look down and see your own waist, you can't prove this to be wrong! Argument ended. Magazines are disposed of properly into your magic belt...
