BA-64 should not be as tippy

i think id would be a great addition to the game to beable to use trucks

the only question is how would it be done well?

if it was done realisticly, the tyres could be shot out, small arms could easyily kill passengers and the driver and a few shots to the engine, especialy a burst from a machine gun would kill it

doesnt sound to fun so how would it be done?

Meh I would say take out that BA-64, or leave it in for armoured car battles!

But atm. I'd totally prefer the ZiS halftrack (with Gorjunov SG-43 or DP/DT) vs. the Sdkfz. 251 "Hanomag" halftrack. :)

And tires that can be shot?
That would kickass, reminds me of H&D2...

I was driving my Jeep, the left tire got hit by a German bullet, so I jumped out of the Jeep, and it drives straight over the gunner who shot me and crashes in a crewed German Blitz... :D

Just wonderful. :)

Yeah, make no mistake, the truck isn't the same as a halftrack. Halftracks can be very effective when used to bring troops up for an assault. The trucks wouldn't last 2 minutes. If we're going for absolute balance, you'd have to add a Russian halftrack somewhere.

Though the only armored halftracks the Soviets used were supplied by the Americans.

(fast google search)

not realy protected and not with a weapon, but at least something for troops. (mabe even the version with the 30mm AA gun mounted on top of it! Dont know how much people needed to handle it, but maybe 3-4, woud not be much more then a tank then)

please, im sure the poor soviet soldiers used it again light tanks/halftracks infantry also ! :D

Yes the BA64 was top heavy

Yes the BA64 was top heavy

I talked to a armoured car specialist, that owns one in the UK. The chassis is based on a sedan frame and was not designed to be top heavy. The wheel base is too narrow as well. Even examining model kits and actual reference pictures, the BA64B is a little longer then a Jeep.

The BA64A is tiny, tiny, tiny!

I think the mod has the car perfectly modeled.

Has anyone tested to see if shooting an HE round NEAR the BA-64 will flip it or spin it? That could prove interesting. Might give more use to the PzIVF1s.

Alternatively, allowing players to climb on tanks (and still shoot off of them), might also alleviate the problem of the kamikaze clown car.

Aside from that, though, I'm perfectly happy to see it be tippy. It's not THAT bad if you drive it right, although I'd like it if it slid around a bit more.
