I like pie

I thought the responses on the thread sounded repetitive, until I looked at dates. Not easier to make new thread and less confusing? I like pie too, lemon meringue with a glass of cold milk .

And mueck's response is always repatitive so this will save him a post.

And RD you have to get a pie by yourself.

Who complained about winterskins?

I had several admins complaining about the skins. Now i don't know who or what caused it and iff it was a wrong setup.

All i know is that a mapper want to see his stuff on servers and want the chance to play it so he can improve it.
To archieve this goal i join servers with my maps as often as possible to hear the comment and i mail and post the files to as much Admins as possible. I notice the map didn't showed up on much servers.

This could mean two things

1 = Admins don't like to set up the skins

2 = The map gameplay is bad.

To fix both of these things i decided to drop the skins to make it easier to run the map and to gather more gameplay info.

Playing this map from beta 1 showed that at the earlier versions the first objective ment massacre. Beta 5 showed the first objective was fine but the appearing of 50 servers made the naderain annoying. Together with the
Komsomol chokepoint it ment i had to tweak it again.

I hope this answer was satisfying.

Any pie left ????

:) sweaty hair pie :p is all thats left. #6 is great but the russians could never gain control of the stronghold in the 3 games i played on a 50 man. server, could have been we were un organized, too many guys laying back not wanting to move into the zones. time ran out every time. great job Drecks the added cover and fence openings at chrkov park help out a lot keep up the hard work it's much appreciated

I was there almost two entire games and Allies got their *** raped twice.
Didn't make it to the Churchpark. To me it felt weird as previous choke point was the cap of the third objective.
Left that game with a worried bad taste.

Then immidiatly when i left the 50 server i see the map up at The Damnedpriests server and joined. First game wa 20 vs 20.
We had a hard fight over the Hotel but once we managed to cap it we kept it and got the Church park with 10 minutes left. Then we took the Komsomol and in the last 10 seconds Allies won first game.

Next game was 22 vs 22 the fight for the Hotel was hard but we got it same was the fight for the park. But Allies know what to do.
Allies won that game with 10 minutes left !!!

To sum it up it must have been the players. Maybe there where a lot of new players during the game at TWB server,maybe they played harmonica in the Warehouse.

or put the german spawn after away from the basement building

I played it several times know and it can be hard as Allies but it's defanatly not impossible. I might change some small stuff in that capzone and can draw back the Axis spawn. But first i want to wait a while and hear other comments.

I like it without all these nades. Maybe i will give Allies more submachineguns.

It's a shame that the editor wouldn't let you assign one grenade to a class. I'll need to look in to the issue in regard to my map.

More auto rifles would be better as too many machine guns impact on performance serverside.;)

Every time I've experienced this map it's been very tough for Russians to cap and hold the park... Most of the time both rounds end in defeat still at the Ruined Hotel.

Every time I've experienced this map it's been very tough for Russians to cap and hold the park... Most of the time both rounds end in defeat still at the Ruined Hotel.

Seeing these two comments tells me the map is pretty well balanced and what it really comes down to is the team that is working together better.

I've played both sides in every version. The reason for the new wall opening in the basement is to help with what was otherwise a bottleneck entry into the basement building. Both the opening and the hallway are campable and thereby defendable but what it does provide is the Russians an easier way to get into the basement which is needed on a full server, especially a full 50 server. It also means that the Germans will need someone watching the stairs covering the guys in the MG nest of the basement so that the Russians don't have an easy time clearing them out.

To put up a good defense, the Germans want to make the Russians bleed over the first objective at the Hotel and retake it back if possible. Once it's clear that the Hotel is down, reinforce the basement and just unload on the Church Park. I've seen the Russians held up in the Church park until only 6 minutes left even after capping the Church Park due to suppressing fire from the basement building. You shouldn't be worrying about the church park itself but rather setting up your defense in the basement and the apartments. If the Germans do that it's pretty easy to run out the clock. Once the stronghold falls, instead of going to the monument park, defend the last apartments. Use the buildings to your advantage.

For the Russians, the key is capping the hotel as quickly as possible, withstand the first counter-attack on the hotel as soon as possible and then move on to the Church Park. Capping that will lock out the first two objectives and allow you to assault the basement. If you can get in before the Germans setup their defense the rest of the map is pretty easy. Otherwise an MG is needed in the ruined hotel window to provide covering fire and liberal use of smoke is needed to cover the approach.

Both sides can win, it just needs teamwork.

Have been able to play this a bit and I do like it with less grenades. To bad they weren't able to be split up with about 1 grenade apiece. Like the new hole in the basement wall. Overall it plays better and I have seen both sides win. Tough fight for both sides. (on 50 player) One thing I noticed is that towards the end of the round, the Germans usually have around 10% more reinforcements left compared to the Russians. The Russians are usually 0% or low single digits. My guess is that it should be closer than that with possibly the Germans struggling to watch reinforcements at the end.

Great great map! :)

When playing last night and I was in the Church Park, I saw a Russian who went to climb some snowy ruins and sank in up to his neck in the snow. I have a pic, and will try to post it later, but for now, it was along that buillding where you added the few new rooms in the first Zhitomer, between the doorway and the ruined Stug....
