Given that it seems unlikely we'll see fully adjustable sights in RO anytime soon, is there any chance a patch could be whipped up which adjusts the zeroing for the weapons? As far as I can tell, everything in RO is zeroed for... well, zero, and with some weapons that makes long shots hard if not impossible thanks to sight posts really getting in the way at ranges they shouldn't. 200m seems about right for rifles and perhaps 100 for SMGs (that said, the MP40's 200m sight is the one that's flipped up modelwise); it makes it less insanely difficult for people with smaller monitors to hit distant targets on larger maps but also doesn't make it too easy. Also, given the usual engagement range in the smaller infantry maps, it wouldn't make it too much easier to pick people off at mid range in those.

I'm not sure how much effort this would take or whether many other people care, but at times it can become rather annoying to repeatedly miss easy shots because my sight post or reticle is completely blocking my target at 200-300m.

Adjusting sights would be a pain in combat, but if it's a preset for when you spawn in I'm all for it.

S you think that target is just going to hang around while your 'zero' your rifle..? Me dont think so

Like irl, you raise your rifle and take snap-shots, eventually mastering it to an art-form.

No need for gimmicky zero-ing here!

I think he's talking about the universal zeroing of the weapons. As in, you're already going into battle with a pre-zeroed rifle. Not fiddling with it in the middle of a firefight.

on most maps you can predict at what distance you will engage your enemy.
So even moving the sights slider a bit takes time you could do it at spawn just like attaching your bayonet.
