the Bullpup requires too many shots/headshots & time to kill all common specimens on suicidal.

Also Ak's ammo are cheaper, so using the Bullpup make no sence in all cases.
That's three in wrongs in a row!

The bullpup has 500 rounds total for a lv6 commando. The pup ammo is

Before you read, the perk that seems to be suffering is the Commando.

It's suffering in comparision to all the other combat perks.

First off, the commando weapons have low base damage. Shotguns, pistols, rifles and flamethrowers are higher in base damage. The level 6 perks associated to these weapons get an extra 60% damage to these weapons. That's a lot, don't you think? The level 6 commando only gets a bonus of 50% to lower-damage weapons. Is this fair?

Another problem comes straight from the sharpshooter. A level 6 sharpie has a 60% reload speed bonus. A level 6 commando only has a 35% bonus.

My question is, do you think because of the other perks, the commando is lagging behind a bit? Should he be changed? Or should other perks (or just the sharpie) be brought down to his level?

I wondered the same thing when I earned level 6 for the perk and its a shame why its still only a 50% bonus, but I can see why TW did this(I haven't got the time to look through all the comments so I do apologise if this is double-posted therefore), the SCAR kills the smaller zeds, clots, stalkers, crawlers with one shot on normal and I think on hard too. Yet on suicidal, it takes two shots, so that headshots can help save ammo when killing clots and stalkers.

The reload speed still mystifies me though :/ Increase the reload speed to at least 50% I'd say, and perhaps add a small bonus to the other positives of the perk as I feel it is underpowered sometimes.

I think the commando weps should have 50% reload speed, whilst the non-commando weps keep the 35%.

If a pumpy/hunty/M79 were reloaded any faster it'd be overpowered... :IS2:

Actually, my post was regarding calling the bullpup as worthless as the MP7M on suicidal for attacking specimen. It isn't, simple as that. It's a great weapon.

I state that I upgrade to the AK-47/SCAR/Pipebomb combo because that is my favored setup. I'm as good with the AK-47 as I am with the Bullpup. However, I enjoy the bullpup and sport it regularly on suicidal as an interim weapon.

I do not use my SCAR unless the situation demands it. It is my heavy hitter. I like to be able to get out of a situation twice as fast as I got into it. So I workhorse the Bullpup or AK-47. The weaker weapon is the workhorse. The more powerful weapon is the trump card.

Workhorse / Trump Card

Bullpup / AK-47 Until I can afford a SCAR.

AK-47 / SCAR Final solution to maximum DPS.

It's that simple. Now if I had to stick with the bullpup, I could manage it...but I'd have to rely on using the SCAR or AK-47 earlier than I would in my normal setup. The ammo vs damage wouldn't be equal is the reason. I could do it though, and have done it before.

I find that a lot of commandos prefer to use the SCAR as a primary and the AK-47 as the backup. Those are the guys who I usually see running when things go bad due to either lack of ammo or lack of available stopping power.

I save the SCAR for when I need it.

Conversations gravitate towards the Sharpshooter's M14.
I don't know why though. People seem to think that it's supposed to be that good and that it wont be fixed.
It will be fixed in time and any suggestions from now on would do themselves a wonder of good if they took this into comparison :p

For the bullpup discussion here let's set a framework of waves 5-10 on 6man suicide. I'm also going to just make the assumption on behalf of everyone that we would all choose SCAR over Bullpup so lets further confine the discussion to AK vs Bullpup.

Within the above framework:
Is there still agreement that it is an awesome weapon?
Would you choose it over the AK?
Are there some maps you would/wouldn't?
Is there a certain financial threshold you would/wouldn't?

My take:
It's just not a viable weapon in this framework. lesser zeds cut down like butter as if you were playing normal. Medium zeds (siren/husk) still drop but take just a moment longer each which adds up quickly if you're cutting down a large crowd.
Heavier zeds it's useless against. Skrake maybe the exception as long as you're using bullpup to soften him to rage threshold.

I would choose it over AK on maybe waves 5-6 on distance maps like london or farm.
I would choose it over AK if it means enough finances to also allow a SCAR.

Every map, every wave, win game. repeat. :IS2::IS2:

Pup vs ak is pure preference.
I prefer the AK for its close range firepower since I have the SCAR for longer ranges.
People who like to save as much ammo as possible probably prefer the bullpup for its superior precision.

Either way, both are viable choices.
