Xbox one no progress saved on maneater

I have the problem that the game but won't save anything.

I've replayed the tutorial three times now and nothing I can do triggers the game to save once I start unlocking grotos.

What happens if you delete all saves before starting again?

There were no saves to delete it had never made one. I ended up removing it completely and getting a refund.
