I don't see any problems with the design. The gunslinger has it's weapons customized in a western style. I think the 1911 gives a very wild west feel. Maybe the gunslinger is intended to be a cowboy junkie and has personalized their guns as such. The modders will reskin them anyway if you don't like them. As long as they feel good within the game everything else can be changed to suit individual tastes later.

Liking the torch idea. The weapon attachment system worked great in the first game. But KF2 is a much faster and darker game and you really need a better light source on certain maps. People have been asking for it to be added to every gun, easier to have it on the players body. It also makes sense that now you are highly paid mercenaries you would be provided with proper equipment eg. a flashlight that you don't need to attach to a weapon to be useful.

Hoping for the update to come asap. Been playing alot lately and eager for some new content to shake things up a bit. Thanks for the work Tripwire.

One more thing, any eta on listen servers? I am running my own dedicated server to play locally but it's on the same machine I play on and I get some performance problems. I'm thinking it might be too much having the server and game running on one machine when things get hairy and hopefully just having someone connect to my game might work better :)

Also, regarding the flashlights - there's been that simmering weapon-upgrade-discussion. Why not allow a player to spend say another 100 bucks and get a flashlight for his weapon of choice? I think there'd be a ton of nice opportunities there. Laser pointers, holo sights, underslung attatchments of all sorts... If you don't want to go that way, it is fine, but I kinda liked the flashlights on the weapons instead of some helmet light.

It's true. Sights aside (was never a thing in kf and hipfire is superior anyway) they gave away a huge opportunity to balance their economy with consumables and gimmick upgrades.
Not sure why they ditched a constructive solution when they were listening to community feedback on this matter anyway. Although they could still sell body flashlights and batteries at the trader...

I keep seeing the "why don't you just do attachments?" question. That would be a major weapon pipeline change that would require most of the weapons to be redone and new code to support it. It is something we see as outside the scope of the current game at least at this time. (Read it as months of development for a small payoff that would likely not be worth the effort involved).

Yeah I don't think it should be a priority now either, but once the game is finally done it might turn out profitable if you could sell some micro-transaction crap with attachments or paint jobs. Just don't go full Valve with ridiculous colors and stuff...

I don't know why people think having flashlights invalidates NV.
You know how in scary movies the person walks around the house with a flashlight, terrified, hoping to figure out what X thing was? It's because you can't see **** with flashlights. Your vision is limited to solely to the cone ahead of you and that cone will keep moving around as you aim and shoot. It's a lot harder to gauge your situation and not miss incoming zeds with just a flashlight.

Don't forget that Crawlers walking on walls and ceilings will be a thing too. That'll spice things up.

Because now you'll be able to have 6 flashlights illuminating the whole area, and if you have NV activated with 5 other flashlights, you won't be able to see much due to the excessive brightness.

T&W .500, love it! They all look great! Love the idea of starting with the 1858, was hoping for a singe action army/colt peacemaker but I can see why that'd be difficult to work with - the reloads and single action combined may be too sluggish. My question is, as a gunslinger do you start with 1 or 2 revolvers? I hope 2! Mainly because you can start right away with the cowboy feel.

Also, will there be an option to switch between single gun and dual wield, or is it just dualies when you have 2?

My 2 cents on the designs too - all the pistols are great choices and design wise look amazing, the guns themselves and their themes look well thought out. However I must say that a clean steel 1911 would be fantastic. As nice as the engravings and style is, only 1 gun (Desert Eagle) doesn't have engravings and such. Would be nice to perhaps have a clean steel workshop skin for the 1911 or something, maybe as an alternative skin from the get-go? Not a fan of the writing on the sides and stuff.

Maybe it's just me but in all the games which allow skins for guns I only ever liked clean profiles for the newer/semi auto stuff. By clean I mean factory, i like wear and tear just not engravings and camo patterns etc.

So yeah that's my bit, must say though lovely work! As tiered weapons and themes/designs go you couldn't have chosen better!

Right?! Now all I need is a 1873 lever action and then I can have a CAS/SASS load out with dual revolvers, lever action and the coach gun. Getting very hyped for the gunslinger for sure.

Also, will there be an option to switch between single gun and dual wield, or is it just dualies when you have 2?

I still hope for the duelist style where after you empty one gun you switch to the other gun at least for the T1. But that is because duelist is my preferred shooting style...

But I still hope for a skill or something that gives you something extra when you only use one gun. I know I sound like a broken record but I would love to have a gun in my right hand and my knife in my left hand.

I also ask that because I like the professional feel of both hands on a pistol sometimes. It'd also be nice to swap to the 2nd one as a quicker thing to do than a full reload, flintlock pistol style!

Over here, no not there, here.
Personally I am completely psyched for the flashlights thing. When I'm on a map like catacombs I have to buy dualies and use them most of the time because I absolutely cannot see jack when I don't have a flashlight out on that map.

While you guys are doing the audio overhaul do you think you could make the footsteps sound a little more plasticy? As in it sounds more like you're carrying a bunch of gear and stuff? I think that'd be cool, especially for the special forces characters.

I like that you can see fingerprints here and there on some models. The heat staining is a nice touch too. As others have mentioned the KF2 and 1911 on the M1911 looks out of place. The rest of the gold inlay is not bad though.

Oh also am I the only one who took the "ninja outfit" as a hint that Martial Arts may be making it's debut with gunslinger?

Since we get some more options to set our game, is it possible to add one more option to disable the camera shake while reloading or the shaking when you use melee?

Oh my god that would be cool, it would also bum me out as that would mean the update most likely will not be out in November. But I guess it would be worth it as the idea of having another melee focused class will bring some more variety to the game.

Wonder if the martial artist will have throwing knifes as a ranged weapon?

Ok. I get that and it makes sense but I saw the payoff as many birds for one boulder. Requests for: Lights, unused gun parts working, cross-class or multi-class weapons, new guns, special sights & cross-hairs, and something more to spend dosh on. Anyway, I am happy with the game overall and am not one to complain. Great job on the Gunslinger's guns and I hope to see them looking even sharper in-game soon! Thanks for the succinct answer and reasoning behind the veto. "Don't fix what's not broken." :D

Alot of that stuff though doesn't fit with the games core of 'use the tools of your specialization to do it better' (at least with the multi-class) and while yeah, it'd make off perk leveling easier, that would also be bad, because it'd be too easy to hit 25 in all perks (and thus that feeling of achievement when you finally rank up a perk goes bye bye). On the attachments...I could live without them honestly. CoD started it, and now, most any new fps that comes out has it and...I don't like that...it's now so standardized as to be a cookie cutter thing, at least with Valve games it's to make the guns look unique and stand out more than to be 'add a laser sight to your minigun' or 'put a scope on your pistol' (which should only work with this bad boy and should be the sharp shooter pistol http://www.great-lakes.org/graphics-2/Smith&Wesson/rev-07-18-11/10Model_647_170229.jpg)

All in all, I personally, don't see the pay out of making weapons in KF2 modular. Now, achievement unlocked reskins for guns, sure (specifically alt skins for a class you've maxed out, or done actually difficult achieves for, like say, blinged 9mm for getting all the dosh bling ach, and such would be nice) but modular 'tacti-cool' weapons...eh...not so much.

How it will be with 9mm pistols... i mean each class has it as secondary weapon, that could also be used in dual mode.
Will it be attached to gunslinger perk, or it remains unchanged- the class that kills, get its XPs ?

Uhhhhhhhh.... the guns look awesome. Again I just hope the sights get converted to the way it was in KF1. Aiming down the sights right now looks so bad. So very bad.
