Only big companies like Valve and EA can afford a cat o nine tales, I think that's my main point :0

Lol if there was one guy using a whip of any kind at Valve, they would have HL3 released years ago.

Edit: MAYBE that is :D

Your glass is always half full isn't it?

In all honesty, I had the exact same idea. Getting annoyed about something that is "delayed" just shows your interest in the subject.

Admittedly - most people have a weird way to express said interest. It's all about self-control. And that's hard.

I myself can't wait for the update!

Other devs also have more people and more money. I know people don't like to hear that, but when you have a team of 50 people you can't just whip them harder to get content out faster.

From everything I've heard about the ridiculous hours and tight deadlines game developers have to work under, I'd be very surprised if Tripwire was able to get to where they are now with everyone sitting around twiddling their thumbs the way some people think they are.

But other devs aren't making 200 fps reload animations and adding all the other cool "check weapon" animations or having each character have their own voice lines and voice actors. Let's be honest, tripwire goes above and beyond what other developers do effort wise.

are you claiming that other devs are significantly less busy then the ones at tripwire?

No, I am saying other developers just do not care anymore. Their only care is to recycle the same game over, and over and charge criminal level prices for three new maps and the masses just totally buys that **** up.

Tripwire on the other hand is taking KF2 with the care and devotion to make it a wicked awesome game.

To me anymore large developer's only concern is how to make the most amount of money with the least amount of effort.

I agree with this statement for the most part. Though not all Developers are this way, it does seem all the big guys on the block are..
Take for example, I bought most the CoD's (ending with Ghosts as CoD lost it's edge with me and got really old and played out) and every time they have released a new game or map pack they have rehashed more than one of there old maps merely redesigned and essentially the same exact game mechanics with a minor addition or tweak here and there. TWI has not released any rehashed maps (the modders have that under control) and have also only reintroduced a select few weapons that were in KF1 like the AA-12, SCAR, Double Barrel, Katana and Flamethrower (basically each Perl has kept one of its original weapons). All the others are fresh new designs. If you look at each of those weapons you can notice a difference from the previous game.
I'm not saying they shouldn't bring back any "Fan Favorites" weapons or maps as i am sure they will do this eventually, but them holding back on how many return items there are and bringing new things to the table first is a better game value (gamer's enjoy to keep playing) building strategy. Obviously if everyone on the forums are nagging to get certain things back from KF1 the dev's will most likely appease them (with their own little touch to refresh).

One more item I would like to touch on in this post is our continuing audio work. With the last update we started what has become a general overhaul of almost all the audio in the game (be it tweaking, balance, or a re-recording) and that work continues. We are of course recording audio for all the weapons listed above (and think they are sounding great!) but that isn
