I sure hope the pistols do a lot more damage than that. If .50AE Desert Eagles are barely matching a 7.62NATO SCAR in the damage department, and they have smaller magazines and a smaller ammo pool with probably more expensive rounds, then what's the point? Before Berserker was buffed, the hammer barely matched the SCAR in damage as well. So pointless. Why go in close when you can spray from afar in that case?

I think pistols should match someplace around their KF1 values:

.45ACP 1911s (KF2) = .45ACP HK MK23s (KF1) = 82 damage

.50AE Desert Eagles (KF1) = 115 damage

.500 magnum should then be some amount higher than the DE

As you said, if we got a lot less of ammo and mag size, we need to have damage (and penetration) to compensate.

However, we are still lacking a lot of information (ammo pool, weight, the % behind perk headshot damage / flat damage increase). Hopefully, the damage will be around the figure you said :)

The only problem I've got is that if Gunsliger has already a very high damage per shot, what's the purpose of the Sharpshooter ?

Differences between Gunslinger and Sharpshooter:

Gunslinger pumps out the DPS.

While guns regularly do 1.1 damage on headshot, I believe Gunslinger should do more. (Increased by leveling up) perhaps up to 1.25 headshot damage. That means, on top of Gunslinger's base damage raising up to 25% by level 25, there should also be a 25% headshot damage multiplier on top of that.

Sharpshooter does the sniping.

Like KF1, Sharpshooter should have no base damage increase, only headshot damage increases, though much greater than that of Gunslinger. Take the 1.1 headshot multiplier, add 110% extra headshot damage atop that, plus whatever the sniper rifle's default headshot damage multiplier is, and you have the devestating headshotting power of the Sharpshooter

Anyone having trouble with the links opening a blank tab, Save the file instead, and launch it in your media player.
That works for me.

Also, looking good guys.

I appreciate to see this new perk approaching, at last...time is getting long! But seriously, I would really appreciate to read TW works on weapons, maps, and various improvements, rather than achievements...

To top things off for today I would like to talk about those new achievements that many of you have been wondering about. As part of the update we are working towards we are doing a first pass at non map achievements. Including the achievements for the new maps, players will be soon be able to work towards:
  • Perk Rank Achievements unlocked at:
    • Level 5
    • Level 10
    • Level 15
    • Level 20
    • Level 25 for each perk
  • The Hot Shot Achievements
    • Win a match on every difficulty with each perk

As we move forward we are planning to add more unique, fun and challenging achievements for players to chase.

So, if I'm understanding this correctly:
  • 35 achievements for perk levelling (plus another 15 in the future when MA/SWAT/Sharp are released)
  • 28 achievements for winning matches as specific perks (plus another 12 as above) (this could be done in just 7 achievements, I'm not sure whether this is the case though)
  • 8 achievements for completing the two new maps (plus, most likely, another 2 for dosh blings or similar)

That's up to 71 (or 73) achievements, unless I'm missing something.

I would also like to know what the conditions are for the Hot Shot achievements. Does it count the perk most used, or could you just switch on the boss wave and get it?
