There was a Canadian woman i heard of who owned an actual musket used in the battle of 1812, so basically a peice of history. She took it to the police to demand that it be destroyed because she dident want it falling into the hands of criminals.

The digital age will be a definite detriment to preserving history.

I remember well when the Monica Lewenski story broke and the first picture of her surfaced (an old campaign photo of her working alongside Clinton). The photographer said he vaguely remembered having taken a picture of her and went back through his negatives....he found it. He commented that had he been using a digital camera, he doubted if that picture would have ever made it off of his camera. He probably would have deleted it and it would have been lost forever. The photographer wondered how many, many photos that seemed unimportant at the time get lost forever because of the delete button.
