Are there games where one player characters gender clothes tends to be more exposed? Sure. Is Tripwire making that game? No.

Are there games where both player characters genders clothes are equally revealing? Yes. No, Tripwire is not making this type of game either.

Tripwire feels player avatars should feel empowering for our players in the games that we make. This is not a new policy.

Tripwire does not feel that interesting, empowered avatars are mutually exclusive from other content in the game (if we feel it fits in that games world).

As I'm on vacation this is likely my last post on topic.

Well... I'll be honest with the subject, I wouldn't buy a DLC character for a show. It doesn't quite fit the taste of steampunk, wacky black humor, post-apocalyptic atmosphere or symbolism overall the game has.
Also you don't get to see your own character in KF at all without losing your game experience. Why I would pay money for something I can not see anyway?

On a second account; I don't mind if someone downloads and uses it by downloading from a workshop and server allows it.
Why you worry about TWI not making "right moves" to bring 12 yo CoD fanatics in game? Modding community would do that for you and fill in this unneeded gap, no sources or time wasted on TWI's account as well.

Everybody wins, now let's wait for KF2 to come out.

Yeah, sure, but at the end of the day a real human bean working under the roof of TWI and created that stalker which goes against your apparent "stance on X". So either this is a new ideology that will not repeat past practice or that stalker was just completely forgotten about. The fact of the matter is those stockings she had were complete fetish fuel. You cannot hide behind meta of the game to excuse the rationality for something to be the way it is. Some of the pro SJW stuff that has been upheld here on the forums seems highly out of character and its peculiar to me that TWI is generally endowed to that side of reasoning. Justice Enriching Warrior Socialist NEED to go.

The "no impractical sexy outfits" rule doesn't apply to Stalkers because they were created by the Patriarch, who never cared about practical clothing to begin with (because he left most of his creations butt naked)

If the patriarch wants to dress his cloned women up in skimpy outfits, that just proves HE'S a big ol' perv. Maybe we can get a T-shirt cannon as DLC and have an achievement for shooting Stalkers with it. :p

Also I'm still fond of the idea of a "reformed stalker" or "stalkerized test subject" player character, who WOULD wear a very practical outfit, like a modest sports bra, or a jumpsuit with a sleeve and legging ripped off, not in a sexually revealing way, but instead to go, "look, an exposed portion of limb so you can see it turn invisible sometimes." :D

Scantily clothed playable female character= Turns female players away from games
Naked/scantily clothed killable female character = Deal with it ladies

I mean, I know that statement earned KF2 at least one extra point in the Polygon review but still.

It looks like you're pushing a decision made by the design team onto lore from a game. As if to say the fictional character created by Alex Quick in ~2005 actually has real authority/opinions.

I agree, I feel empowered when I run around as a rubber chicken man. Or as Harry Enfield's long-lost relative who poops money every time he takes a step whilst wearing that weird expression of his.

Jokes aside, I personally don't want whorish characters in KF, or joke ones for that matter. I just think that the argument of not including bikini prossie characters 'cos they don't fit becomes a bit weak when TWI enthusiastically add bizarre christmas hillbilly robot steamy space elf people and steampunk guns.

I'd rather not see those things at all. It's totally cool that you guys do these updates on the holidays and add things that stay permanently, but do they HAVE to be themed? That one update that brought stuff like the semiauto shotgun, M4 Carbine, and revolvers was awesome. Wouldn't spending time/money on these permanent additions that fit KF2's look be a lot better?

This, so much this.

With KF1 it was a slippery slope effect in practice. And boy, it escalated quickly. It started with one humorous character model, and before we knew, we had chickens running around with plasmaguns and robots with steampunk devices on the moon. I partially get it - KF1 was a kinda-cheap game on an outdated engine, depending on frequent sales and funky events to attract more people.

KF2 is an opportunity for a fresh start, to reset the franchise and make a good, decent-budget contemporary game fitting the genre. Hopefully we get a couple of absurdity-free years before it all goes down the drain.

So yeah, the TWI's statement about busty bimbos may not reflect its past policy in regard of silliness in KF, but it's KF2 we're talking about here. It has a potential to be ridiculous-bull**** free, so let's give it a chance, shall we.

I know right. When I said that a few months ago everybody called me elitist and nazist

But rubber chicken suits can be empowering avatars. After seeing the Martel Halliday resembling the Colonel Sanders, for example.

I wonder why didn't feminists attacked KF back in the days
-no female characters for a very long time
-only female enemy was literally naked and weak
-trader is a woman who made (bad) sexy puns on the characters
-they made the stalker uglier and ****tier in almost every seasonal event
not too much mainstream I guess?

Feminism isn't bull**** and if were playing male characters we think our cool, females should female characters they think are cool. Do you honestly think the majority of women who play KF want to play a ****ty character? (ehh... you get the point)

Don't call feminism bull****. sexism and as such feminism exists and you should never have to get away from it unless your playing Asteroids or Pong where the protagonists remain ambiguous.... how ****ing old are you?

The whole CBGB woman in KF2 looks ****ing bad *** though. Kudos to KF :D

DirtySpartan says he doesn't want to hear it, and you start derailing the thread in defiance of that? Great job
It doesn't matter what you think about feminism, I don't want to hear it either, and likely the mods don't want another ****storm argument about it as well

Being a part of the community i feel obligated to help people find the error of their ways. Games are not just games and can in fact affect social relations between people and create despicable personalities. to completely disregard important social issues - cos it a game, or even more ridiculous, cos you dont want to hear it, is absoloutle garbage.

It's not derailing. It's reminding? as it stands this entire thread is done as Yoshiro essentially denied any chance of them doing this. (Maybe i misinterpreted this... but i doubt it) So the only thing left to discuss is why this is a bad idea.

Believe me I have 'regarded' feminism many times before and now choose to disregard it
In your post before you presented a highly optimistic, matter of fact "it's about equality mmkay" portrayal of feminism, when in fact you couldn't be further from reality
sexism exists. But third wave feminism does nothing to reduce it, let alone curb it
The meaning behind the word 'feminism' has changed a lot over the last few years, and now going into 2015 a lot of people are disassociating themselves with that label entirely
you can preach all you want about what you think the feminist ideology is, or you can go out and see that it's something entirely different

edit: also just because you think an ideology is right doesn't mean you have the right to shove it down people's throats because you believe people 'shouldn't ignore such issues'
if people say they don't want to hear it, then respect that

I do actually share your viewpoint on everything you've said, aside from your false portrayal of feminism
