yea i get 50fps average with the 6950 2gb but a friend of mine gets less with the same card and better specs but I assume something else is wrong with his system. I doubt you will be able to unlock it though even the 6950s with bio switches have been mostly locked. some textures look very low res though im not sure if its a bug or problem with the drivers.

So what CPU? Ram? Settings? FPS?
AMD Phenom II 955 @ 4.0Ghz
8GB DDR3

Everything maxed, except shadows which are on low. FPS is solid 60 (vsync) and sometimes drops down a bit when there is a lot of action on the screen. Running the latest drivers as well.

Game runs awesome with my HD5770 1gb. Wouldnt suggest getting this, but to show that AMDs are not the problem as a whole at least.

Oh, when it comes to loudness or airflow, then I don't know. At least my HD5770 is frigging loud with default cooler, I dont think the case gets too hot, though.

That's very strange; my HD 5770 was made by HIS and is so quiet I can't hear it over case fans even at max load. It still pushes air out really well, though.

Hard to say...
It is a DirectX 9 game, so you will see no benefit from Dx11 with the newer hardware. Your card is still a freaking monster in terms of performance, technically it should be eating this game alive.

I'd wait a bit and see if either game changes or Nvidia Driver changes happen. Remember your card needs an SLI profile for its' full potential as well.

Could you tell me where to get one and set one up?
Id really appreciate it.

Nvidia usually releases them, most of the time with driver updates. If you check the driver release notes you will see what I mean.

If you go into Nvidia control panel and check under SLI I think there is a profile option. Not too sure, been a long time since I played with SLI. You can create game profiles in the driver though by going to the 3d management tab and selecting the program drop down box, probably have to use Add to find the RO2 exe to add the program, then you can individually adjust the driver for that specific program, ro2 in this case.

Op, you should get another gtx 460 1gb. They scale really well. I normally get about 80-60 fps average in RO2 (although on freedom fighters outside it drops to about 40 sometimes, but I assume that is due to it being a beta and no nvidia drivers to support this game.

Your Nvidia SLI profile is already automatically updated if you have 275 or more recent driver

Ok, i put the ro2.exe in the nvidia list but didnt know what options to change and stuff, but thanks anyway.

The driver options have pretty good descriptions of what they do, or in any case how they affect performance and visuals. Not using them is usually the best option to get your actual performance. This works for all programs though, so for example I used the AA option in the driver to add 32xMSAA to Half-Life (1999 game) to improve visuals with features the game does not have.

What are your other specs?

I have a HD5770 as well, also i7 920 @3.4Ghz and 6GB 1600MHz RAM. I get an average of 55 FPS on medium settings. I would not call that "running awesome". "Running awesome" would be everything maxed out on Ultra and still getting a stable 60+ FPS.

Then it's more CPU heavy than I would have thought. I have the same processor but not OC'd and my FPS really goes down the drain on FH.
Witcher 2 and Metro 2033 run maxed without any issues (no uber sampling though).

I managed to enable te game to test out eyefinity and it works great with the latest driver for the AMD 6xxx. No slow down at all, maybe some of you guys just got buggy drivers or something =0

I think if you can run high/ultra settings and maintain around 40 FPS you are doing really well. Even though the game is Dx9 it uses a lot of enhancements that are GPU heavy. As well there are a ton of physics calculations that take up a lot of cpu/gpu usage. Everything is calculated in this game.

Witcher 2 and Metro are single player games that limit what needs to be calculated based on where you are and what you are interacting with individually. RO2 is calculating the actions of 64 players and their behaviors and actions simultaneously.

OOps I think I should have quoted Lightsaber :p
