Gratzi for the kind words :)

Finished the detailing the model. Need to take it into Max: Skin it, Animate the door, Create collisions, and make LODS. You won't see the LCVP again till I release the map :D

Oh my lawd it looks awesome :O

How large is the map going to be? Can the size be compared to current RS maps?

Txs, About 1/2 as wide and 3 times longer than Kwajalein by crude estimates.



Did you Create the Terrain by hand or by height map? if by hand thats awesomely accurate!

By hand, and a lot of guess work. Butaritari averages only 6 feet above sea level. Digital Elevation Maps (DEMs) typically only have resolutions in 10 meter height increments. No LIDAR (1 foot increments) maps are available to my knowledge.

:eek:Yes quite nice. The way you are laying this out is in line how I am considering. IE history as the guide. Right now I am looking at Corregidor. But unsure if anyone else has considered this. But grabbing SMRT data as a starting place. Of course I have NO FREAKEN idea what to do after preparing a HEI map. LOL. If I commit to this could I pick your brain? :eek:

This Project is perfect! I love the Idea of having LCVPs with a ramp that open/Closes with each wave, plus having additional spawn Points hence "Yellow Beach was a flanking position".
I can sense that this is going to be my favourite Red Orchestra map ever made.

Made a custom sky box (and cube map). Decided to stay true to Makin and make the sand white, which meant revamping the terrain. White sand is a royal pain to render, and getting it to look "wet" on the shorelines has been a major challenge. Had to make several cutom textures to hone in on the desired result. Still a work in progress, and several months from a playable state. Maybe being too **** about the result. Oh yea, LCVP still in the LOD stage, no Emily, and no other custom meshes started that IMO are required. RealLife(TM) has only allowed a few minutes a week to work on this. It'll be a miracle if it makes the contest.


Short story: hit the "RESET" button.

Working on RealLife(tm) projects ATM, so has been placed "on-hold" while absolute means of income are pursued. Regarding the LCVP, still in the UV unwrapping phase. Thanks for the continued interest.

I'd be willing to take up the project, as I unknowingly started not realising someone else had been working on one but stopped ( I love the idea of an ultra-dense palm tree environment. I love visual cover in game when I play.) If you Twrecks, I would be happy to finish it, or I can just scrap mine, and find something else...

I'd be willing to collaborate. Won't know till I sift through my HD if I have any of the map files. Since if I don't get help (or find the files), none of it will ever see a server, don't mind if you use the name regardless.

In retrospect, should have done the '42 Raiders map, more jungle, no fortifications and a smaller piece of the island.
