Wip forum upgrade

Well, I do like the feature where you can look up the "Latest Activity" when you are in the subforums and NOT get posts from other games.

However, "New Posts" would be better. I find I am clicking on the latest activity and finding out that there hasn't been any new posts in that topic for days. It seems it would be beneficial that those topics only show up if there are new posts in it from the last time you visited the forum (and/or used "Mark Forums Read").

I don't get it. Will the forum style be fixed or is it done now? Why is it taking so long it is mostly a matter of minutes editing the CSS of the forum... Do you need help or something TWI?

//edit: also, when you receive a mail notification, the message content is way too short, should be increased A LOT to have at least a part of the message in it if not the whole message. Example:

Dear ®omano,

Ohio_Rockstar has made a new post under Steam Overlay no longer working after latest update.

The discussion is located at: http://forums.tripwireinteractive.com/node/2263673

Here is the message that has been posted:
***************
[ QUOTE=®omano;n2263417]Be sure no other programs that run in the background do not mess with Steam or the game's overlay. Thing like TeamSpeak plugins, video
***************

All the best,

I don't even have the complete quote in it, and can't see the reply at all...

PS: and you can see that my user name special character has problem "®"

We've had somebody helping us with the new design and it is almost done. However there is a bug that is lingering that we are tracking down before we update everybody to it (I actually did update it but we found the bug and rolled it back).

thanks Yoshiro and that someone, was freaking out when the forum changed again and trying to determine which one is marked as read or not.

It is better now, but this white background, especially on top of forum just burns my eyes. I don't know if it is because it's late and I'm tired, or the contrast with the other colors, but...

The text color in the quick reply box does not match the color of the text once it is posted by the way, don't know if it is intentional but grey on grey is not best for this text box, having a matching color should be better.

Links are not visible unless you go over them (this is bad as text with a link is invisible, for your eyes it is normal text). Yes, this whole sentence is a link, test go over it with your mouse.. and link in preview/quick reply text box are ugly blue color, I think it should match what we get once it is posted...

The Forum button on top left of the page, under the TWI logo is 100% useless.. unless you plan to add more tabs next to it, just get rid of that I think.. The logo already redirects to same link.

//EDIT: and I found that bug: https://www.dropbox.com/s/vfamje4npj...07.49.png?dl=0

//EDIT 2: in the user settings page, for consistency, as it seems to be the color you picked, use this dark orange color on the selected tabs instead of the blue one of the original style.
.b-tabbed-pane__tab--underline.b-tabbed-pane__tab--selected {
border-bottom: 4px solid #F40;
}

Still getting lists of topics that have long since been read AND not having new posts showing up in the lists ahead of topics with brand new unread new posts. In some cases, topics don't show up on the "Latest Activity" list even though they have new posts in them. Its slightly better when you use this feature from within a sub-forum.

Am I correct in the assumption that "Mark Channels Read" should act like the old "Mark Forums Read?" I think it would be more useful if it cleared those topics lingering in the "Latest Activity" List.

Is there planned comeback of best feature of previous forum - jumping directly between developer posts?

we could do that before? o_O"

Also, ability to collapse forums on main page please (and remember which forum was collapsed when you come again another day), like it was before, there are too much forums, and sub forums, and it just discourages to browse what we're interested in....

the categories in the current visual style blend together, IMO.

the Titles that are supposed to separate them, don't seem to be doing a very good job of that. some spacing above and/or below these Section Titles would space out the separate areas better.

as it is now, quickly looking at the list of sections does not give clear indication where one section starts and ends.

Yes I agree, my suggestion: increase the font size by 2pt, have a lighter background for category header

forum-list-container .category-header {
background: #888 none 0 0;
height: 33px;

.forum-list-container .category-header .category {
font-size: 16px;
font-weight: bold;
float: left;
color: #FFFFFF !important;
}

resulting in: https://www.dropbox.com/s/m25xxhs9ps...25.52.png?dl=0

or with an increased category header height, 43px instead of 33px, resulting in: https://www.dropbox.com/s/zcxhmsbt5w...22.04.png?dl=0
