In the start of the thread it was explained how to install custom map using a redirect, and it works great for me actually.
But I've problems if instead of the map I need to speed up the download of other components such as textures (IE: Thames_Bridge 23MB of texture = tooo looooonng! :( )
What should I do?

I am running 2 servers on my Dual Core PC. I was wondering if It would handle 3 servers. Anyone run 3 servers?? It runs great with the 2 servers. 1 is 6 player, and 1 is 20 player. No lag or anything.. I am thinking about running a Versus Server..

Hi, I followed most of the directions and I am left here. *see attachment*
I edited "default.ini" and saved it as "KillingFloor.ini" in the same folder. I could not find the GameDifficulty in the .ini.
Did I do anything wrong?
And how do I connect to my own server?

I'm runing here 4 (Six Players) servers in my Dell Optiplex P4 2.6 HT 2GB DDR2. No lag at all, my shared connection is the only problem here, the PC runs fine, 40% processor use when all the servers are with 4 - 6 players

What did I do wrong?

Your server is going to show you your internal IP. For example I see it as 192.168.15.149:8075 which is a private IP address. But anyone outside your network should see it as the ip shown on http://www.whatsmyip.org/

To prove that this works try typing in the browser the ip address in the browser (from the website) in place of your local ip OR have a friend look at the server and tell you the IP address they see.

AntiBlocker Help

AntiBlocker Help

Hello,

I've followed the OP directions for the most part on having AntiBlocker installed.

Let's install KF Anti Blocker by Benjamin.
This mutator disables player collisions during 'Trader' time. This results in players being able to pass through each other. Without this mutator a player can stand in front of a trader door and block entry to others. This mutator will allow you to pass through each other.

1) Download the KF Anti Blocker mutator and install:

MutKFAntiBlocker.ucl
MutKFAntiBlocker.u

to your system folder. In my case this is located at C:\KS1\system.

This was done correctly on the server.

2) Stop your server and either set the mutator to be activated automatically using the command line in your kf_server_launcher.bat by adding:

Code:
?Mutator=MutKFAntiBlocker.MutKFAntiBlocker
or after you've restarted your server with the mutator files added go to your Web Admin Interface > Mutators and check 'AntiBlocker' > 'Set Selected Mutators' and then Restart Map.

The Web Admin Interface automatically recognises that you've added the AntiBlocker mutator to your system folder.

I have done this with success, but later different map the mutator is not active.

So then I applied the below steps

If this applies to all mutators you'll have to wait and see. In case a mutator isn't recognised it has been suggested you can add it to the KillingFloor.ini manually under the [Engine.GameEngine] area as follows:

ServerPackages=MutKFAntiBlocker

And no change. It will work on the first map, but not continuously on all maps. What am I misunderstanding and thus doing incorrectly? Adding to startup line is the answer?

Thanks

Yeah probably, I have it in the startup and it works well that way, just tag it on to the end.

Also, check your webadmin's mutator list and check it before and after map switches, when you check the mutator you have to make sure that you hit the button at the bottom, i think it says "SET"

Thanks for your reply. Yes, I've done that latter part you've mentioned and it only works for that map. The mutator goes inactive for follow on maps. That was what prompted me to want the mutator running continuously.

I added to the Startup line and all is good. Thanks I think the OP should be updated to clarify this behavior though. ;)

I am finally delving into creating a dedicated server, and I have a few questions:

1. I followed the instructions for removing the KF-Intro.rom file, yet it still appears in the Map Vote list. Did I miss something?

Specifically, I added the lines, "bMapVote=True" and "bUseMapList=True" under the [xVoting.xVotingHandler] portion of the .ini file.

2. Is there any way to set the default map when the server is rebooted, or does it always go to the first map in alphabetic order? In addition, my attempts at only having one particular map in the list failed, as I couldn't even start up the server without the presence of all default maps.

3. I can't get the KFGameLength to work properly, as every map is still four waves. I had to add to the .ini file, "KFGameLength=2" but that doesn't work. Alternately, in the game itself I tried to change the setting as admin by typing in the command, "admin set engine.gameinfo kfgamelength 2". All I ever get is an "unrecognized property kfgamelength". Obviously, I'm missing something here. Any clue as to what?

4. I frequently get bugs where players can't select a perk (Unknown steam error, etc.), or when I enact the command, "admin set engine.gameinfo gamedifficulty <parameter>" and then change the map for it to take effect, the server shows up in the "Internet Games" list as being on kf-menu.rom and again, no access to perks. Any idea how to resolve those?

As always, much obliged for any help provided!

My server is working perfect theoretically, and it did for about a day, but now nobody can connect to it. it just keeps them stuck at the connecting screen. it's even showing in the master server, just none of my friends can connect to it. any advice on what might be causing this?

I had this issue when first setting up my server box because I didnt have the udp or tcp settings set properly for one of the ports. So double check your settings on the ports or set the ports to forward both tcp+udp if you want to be lazy. see port config here:
http://forums.tripwireinteractive.com/showthread.php?t=30634
I currently have my router on DMZ as that's the only way i have found it to work. So no, it's not a port issue.

I just don't get why it won't work. I've added the exceptions in windows firewall, and even with it turned off it still doesn't work. And the only antivirus i have is avast and i've tried it with that off. I just don't know what more to do.
