hey all,

after finding out that RO only uses one core of a dual core processor, at least for core2duo it does. I was wondering if RO will ever , or even could possibly ever add support for dual cores to use the second core. My first core is maxed out and the second one is basically dormant. Im not sure if this is a problem with the unreal engine itself or is something that could be taken care of in software to add support.

What do you all know about this , and is it possible they can add support for the dual core>?

thanks

No, the game is based on unreal engine 2.5 which did not support multi core processing and to go back and make a major change to the engine like that now would not benifit anybody. The team is hard at work on its second game which uses unreal engine 3 which is very multithreaded.

So you'll foot the bill to pay the programmers to do it? :D Let me know when the wire transfer is ready.

Plus seriously, if I had the kind of money to spend to pay the boozing/whoring/gaming... Errr I mean, hard-earned payday and legitimate expenses of a bunch coders, don't you think I'd already HAVE a UE3 capable computer and not a 4 yo laptop running Ubuntu ? :D
