no problem!, it was a hill just in front of the city (a tomb hill from old cozak russians i think), who controlled that hill would have had a great view over the city of stalingrad. So it was really important for the germans to capture that hill( I think some people even called it Hill 102) so they would have had a great spot for there artillery, they could have attacked every inch of the city from that hill. so it was important that the russians defended that hill at any cost. The hill saw major fighting during the siege specialy close combat and lot of trenches and wooden bunkers, not sure but i believe 62th army had until october there headquater on that hill? But the germans where never able to capture it during the siege of stalingrad. It would be cool to have a map of it!
