And as always — remember we're talking about X k people on at any given time, implying that the overall, real, numbers are higher.

Good stuff, real grand.

Theres still a LOT of people yet to hear about/download the patch, so quite possible it still grows over the next few weeks.

Also word of mouth will bring in even more numbers as friends tell friends.Already heard of clans from DoD that are going to switch games and I quote "I'm getting my friends to come over from DoD to play a superior ww2 game". Many people will buy the game even after this weekend when they play other fps's and decide they need a tactical/realism fix.

You don't realize how much you miss something until you can't play it no more.

I, for one, am very pleased to see what has happened over this weekend.

For everyone who cares about the RO franchise (and that clearly includes TWI, for those who ever doubted) the last 6-8 months have not been pleasant.

What we see here is a new dawn for RO2. But community action is what keeps things going, every bit as much as extra stuff from TWI.

Those that give to the community are those who are rewarded most, in terms of their experience of and around the game. Those that come to a game just to take, and then complain if the well runs dry, are never going to have as rich an experience.

So server admins, modders, clammers, grab the tools, roll up your sleeves and let's get to work. If you already have been doing this then you know what I am talking about.

Yeah..Now the real hard work begins and we all need to pull together to begin re-building our community.
Keeping the interest of new players and clans is the next task.
I am hoping mappers will start the process of completing their maps so that the community has a lot more choice and hopefully we can look at competitive gaming again..All in all this patch has totally transformed our community and now that TWI have done their part its time for us to do ours.;)

The min player moment changed from around 130 towards 2000. Which is a great change for the us folk. I guess it will peak then at around 4000 at top time.

So while there weren't that many people during the free weekend, due to the low price a lot of people bought it relatively of those that tried it out, or a lot of old players returned either way. RO2 is alive again, so I would call the free weekend a big success.

Its a bit of a wait to see what it will end up at after a week or 2. But topping out around 3000 for a while might be a possibility :). This shows that now its probably going to be worth it to actually create new content.

Our clan now has a 20 man server online and we are all very happy with the new patch, no one has said a bad comment.

I had written RO2 off and removed it from my hard drive. I grabbed the update Friday night after reading the positive comments on this forum, I was skeptical but after playing for a good 2 hours last night I was very impressed with the overall experience. Pistols work, rifles work, bullet penetration works and the server browser works, everything just works now and comes togeather for a much tigher and neater experience.

3000+ online in the AM on Memorial day in the States. I say this game has turned a corner.

Quick question since it was brought up in this thread....do we have an organized beta team to help the modders/mappers test their "product"?

As we found out, testing NEEDS to be done and I believe having a dedicated team might help the process move a bit faster and definitely smoother.
