Hello,

i am starting to follow this project and i do have a question: Will the map fog that stop you to see correctly more than 150 meters away will be as pronounced as RO2 or toned down?

I do know you said back in the RO2 days that it was for optimisation but i would like to know what's about it today.

Especially that i do not think RS2 will devour our 2015-2016 computer-specs alive like a Star-citizen can do (I hope).

Sorry for my not that good English. I wish you to succeed with this game Antimatter.

You can just easily choose your own preset on RO2 SDK with HeightFog, every aspect of it could be changed, shouldnt be a real problem for AMG to work a little bit closely with that in RS2.

Yes, i know they can set it into the editor, i just hope the view range wont be limited to 150m like it is in some (and many) RO2 maps...

When predicting how things like this will appear in RS2, Rising Storm would be a much better indicator of things to come rather than RO2.

150 m fog distance makes me think of Winterwald but not every ro2 map

At the time of writing, there is not a single map with distance fog anywhere near that close. That may change of course, but we have good reasons for wanting to keep the view distance as high as possible wherever we can. If we can manage performance using other methods first, we will.

Unless we end up with a map during a thunderstorm. In which case, expect "fog" to be a whole lot closer as part of the atmosphere.

During thunderstorm? Jesus Christ it sounds great! Will there be heavy rain on this map or something simmilar to this?

Well technically right smack bang in the middle of a thunderstorm there's hardly any rain at all.

Means you have a rather high chance of being struck by lightning however.

Thank you for the replies everyone ! I am a bit traumatised by the fog presence in many games, so maybe i exaggerated the comparison a little.
