I am presently at war with the owner of a rather large dog.
The enemy has yet to be identified.
Pissing on my territory is an aggressive act.

War may and will be justified.

Wars happen because there will always be young men with limited life experience who are easily manipulated into organized violence by older men who have NO SOLE, no empathy.

People are just to easy to scare and manipulate into dumb masses for different reasons. The essence is that we are more like monkeys then like our vision of a perfectly civilized species would be. We know how to do it and become better as a kind but our animal instincts just hinder us because....we are mere advanced animals. And when I say advanced I mean advanced in finding ways of killing eachother.

Our entire way of thinking is distorted and always has been. Look at the world today. 80% of the people around you are completely ignorant about crucial matters like history and politics, the way our surroundings evolved to this ****ty mess we call society.

The way I see it we are destined to spiral in this everlasting cycle of war and peace. The next big war seems to be on the horizon, it will not be the last.

Okay. I'm a vet. Never kicked in doors in Fallujah, but we did our share of boarding operations of drug smugglers.

I think that, at the end of the day, it's possible to learn SOMETHING from almost everyone that you meet. I haven't figured out what it is yet that I might be able to learn from you. I am, however, quite certain that it is not the proper use of the English language.

Oh, and if you're still claiming that the nuns taught you English, I'm going to have to call Bravo Sierra on that. My old man went to Catholic school, and 60 years later you could still see the long, straight scars on his hands from metal-edged rulers. Any nun that saw the way you're abusing language and punctuation would have just straight up amputated your fingers with a ruler.
It's probably just his Agent Orange flaring up again.
(And to think that some say our educational system has declined over the years. Heaven help us now...)

IT has been said

IT has been said

I write,,,some of the best stuff,,,,,,,, "East OF THE PECO"S"

Thetoad,,at times,,is humbled by the thoughts & writings of my fellow members..

With all the education, and more importantly,,the knowledge we have accrued ,,matters not.
A case in point.A true visionary,,passed this day,,and although not connected to his company,,,APPLE,,,,,that stock will take a big hit today. Not because of his dwindling input to his company will be missed,,,,,,,,,a decision,,,a KNEE JERK ,,one at best ,,by so called savvy investors....will be made.Guaranteed.

It is simply,,the human condition.

As has been said,,by better words,,than I can muster,,

We simply,,,do not learn,,,,by our mistakes

P.S.The Pecos,,,is somewhere...in Texas......I TINK.......

Hero's ,,in this members mind,,,,bears the skin of General Gotthard Heinrici,,,and most importantly,,,,, "Smilling Albert",a commander truly versed in the multiple arts of war. This field Marshall,,conducted,,the most effective,,fighting retreat.....using minimal equipment ,,,ever done,,,,period..

As was mentioned,,,,some time ago,,,,,,

All I want,,,in life,,,is to be.....mentioned,,,,in his same breath......

P.S. Get me his BATON,,,,,and I won't bother you again....

Not sure what this thread is worth, but if you really break things down, the reason wars are fought on any scale is because one party wants something that comes at the expense of another. I want more territory, and that may be a concern to you because maybe you currently hold that territory, or the expansion of my power is threatening to you. Whichever of us can sustain a war effort or subjugate the other through warfare gets to decide the way things are going to be.

To say that religion, ideology or culture is the cause of conflict is just scratching the superficial appearance of things. Religion/ideology/culture is just common ground that makes a geographical area or a number of people a single entity, like say, a country with a population and a government. For there to be a will to share and work towards the same goals there must be some grander unity between people. The will and suffering of another person within your unity must matter to you, that any transgression against either part of the group you belong to matters to you personally as much as it does to anyone else. The most obvious one would be an attack against your fellow believers, an attack on your sovereign territory or whatever it is that defines you as a single group of people.

Most people in the world today submit themselves to some form of leadership within the group they belong to, most commonly nationstate governments, so wars usually happen because the governments want it rather than the people as a whole. If religion is what unites the people, then religion is the language used to unite people in war. If political ideology is what unites the people, then that too is the language used to unite people in war. Neither are the reason for war however, it is just an expression for the unity that defines the conflicting parties.

The Anguish..

The Anguish..

That permeated through some of my prose,,,had a cause..
Consider The Horror....

It was brought to Thetoad's attention,,,that he was sleeping on 600 thread count per inch,,Egyptian Cotton Sheets, instead of the customary 1000 count sheets.
Enough Said..

Why Wars Are Fought

Wars,,,,,,,,are,,,,,,Fought........
TO PROVIDE US WITH HOLIDAYS...
Who can forget,,,Armistice/Veterans Day..
Do not forget,,,our nations most cherished holiday........THANKSGIVING

Yes,,a direct product of War.That holiday,was turned into a viable national day of Thanksgiving,,,by law,,,,by Abraham Lincoln.Your due diligence,,will confirm that.Honest Abe,,was giving his thanks,,,to Generals Meade,,and to Hancock.

Some member,,pondered,,would he EVER,,,learn anything,,from TRULY!YOURS..Maybe this.

Abe,knowing the importance of Gettysburg,,,said,,a day of Thanksgiving,,should be observed,,on the final Thursday,,month of November,in 1863,if memory serves.

Captain John Smith,,and his main squeeze,,Pocohontas,,,,was nowhere,,,,in sight.
Imagine That.......
