The game is cheap because of two reasons.

A lot of well lets call them blockbuster releases these days are pretty expensive.

Also TW adjusted the prices for different regions so you actually dont pay more just because you happen to live in the wrong region.

Price is pretty relative, don't assume it's a "budget" title just because it's not AAA-priced. I got RO1 on a discount sale a few years back and I felt it'd have been worth full price.

This game dosn't have quite the same budget (but I'm not saying it's a small one) as the bigger games and those games can get away with their price - because people will buy it non the less (over-hyped, super-marketed AAA-shooter sequel no. 6 with the well-known developer and brands on it).

RO2 and TWI is less famous (as of right now) and has to attract more buyers with it's reduced price, who would otherwise be reluctant to pay for a game they do not know much about, when they could just play it safe and go for the above mentioned AAA shooter instead.

RO2, while albeit a great game, is not made by some sort of massive bigshot company. Bigshot companies charge out the A for their games because they can get away with it because their games are promoted as heck. If this game was on par (as far as fanbase size and advertising) with say Call of Duty or Halo, RO2 would be 60 something dollars just like the rest.

I'm still angry that Bethesda has chosen to price Skyrim at $60 to follow that trend as well.

It's pretty ridiculous, and I'm glad RO2 isn't doing the same.

Gah I know :( if it wasn't so darn expensive I would've pre-ordered that along with RO2. Ah well...back to passing the time until the 13th

For a multiplayer focused title with no real singleplayer, I think the price is right. Don't hate on me because I said there is no singleplayer : it's a fact that it's the same as the multiplayer except with bots and some cutscenes at the beginning. If they would have had the budget or manpower to do a real singleplayer mode, I have no doubt this would be priced at 60$ like all other games.

Seeing as its 90usd for us Australians I'm not even going to bother with it.

i like this answer

It's certainly not because it's low quality. These guys ( TWI ) genuinely give a damn what their customers think and they want to offer them a good deal, with an even better deal to say thanks to all those who bought the first Red Orchestra, simply because they can.

You can't say fairer than that ;)

Because TWI feels that games should be reasonably priced.

Which is weird since imho RO2 is definitely worth a full $60. I played RO1 and Darkest Hour for five years, and am still playing them, I know I got way more than my $30 worth there, and I bet I'll be playing RO2 for about the same amount of time.
