Why passing through team mates sucks.

Happens plenty of times, but the other problem this solves is people blocking necessary exits and such. Either way people are going to die or get annoyed. I'd prefer being able to get out of an area when I need to personally

I understand why passing through teammates is necessary (getting blocked in stinks), but passing through enemies makes things very frustrating at times. Melee can turn into a comical mess when you keep "ghosting" through the target. I'd like to see enemies being unable to pass through and friendlies staying the same.

Since we aren't yet at the level of control of making a character turn his body sideways to get around simple obstacles, this is a good enough substitute in my opinion.

blocking is part of realism.
i prefer a blocking noob in a doorway over a ghosting mate sticking in me at a window trying to shoot from same spot and killing me or get tked by me unintentionally.

Daily occurrence if you play a MG gunner.

Firing, teammate runs up from behind, passes, runs in front, bam.

Yeah, no kidding. Hiding from the enemy also makes it hard for your friends to spot you, and I can't tell you how many times I've accidentally obliterated the ankles of my comrades because they came up from behind me right as I started to shoot.

Update to my sob story...

Just got session banned *again* because one of my teammates decided to climb out the window I was firing out of.

Seriously, TWI, this is a stupid mechanic. Either have players block other players or remove the auto-tk penalties and let admins/voters deal with griefers.

The current system is beyond stupid.

I tried to bayonet a German a couple of days back (as a Russian). He passed through my team-mate whom was BEHIND him... You can guess the result.

I stabbed my team mate.

You'll leave it more open and accessible to griefers though

Blocking griefers seemed to happen most often in Ostfront on custom maps, anyway, like Zhitomir and Bocklin, where buildings often only had one entry point. Many more entry/exit pathways in RO2 maps... Can't get around that fool in the doorway of the Technical School? Move over two yards and climb out the window. :IS2:

I think implementing collision would take a considerable amount of work just at a guess, but it would be worth implementing once bug squashing is complete and more pressing issues addressed...

Rather have no block, than block though.. CS anyone? Block was horrible, and I hated servers that didn't have the simple no-block mod. Very glad though did no block for RO2. TK's happen, its war, TW as said this and well, community as well.

TKs happen in war yes, but not by people ghosting throught eachother, I would like a semi-ghost feature, you can pass through a teammate but you will notice resistance, the body will try to push you away like in TF2 or minecraft.
