Why Oh Why?

I visit these forums every day, and never a day goes by without somebody suggesting a way in which we can change or improve RO.
Is RO so bad that we need to change it completely, make it unrecognisable as the game that most of us love.
Do we really want to make it just another FPS game, a clone of so many others out there?
If TWI were even to include a tiny percentage of the hundreds of changes/improvements? suggested on these forums, the game would never be released.
I love RO. just the way it is (including all its bugs) Ive actually given up reading most of the new suggestions put forward on the forums, coz i just get frustrated and annoyed at seeing so many people wanting to turn this game into something else.

Yeah, I like it the way it is too, I find a lot of it amusing like the tanks driving under on another and such. But yeah, some of the suggestions are stupid, for example:
Someone thought that there was too many buttons to press on the keyboard and thought we should make the controls easier, maybe they don't know what a lot of controls are and should try arma 2. Some guy wanted the clocks on the walls in the maps to actually work, perks(that one hit a nerve with me), and some suggestions giving out about the gameplay which is near perfect in my mind. I don't mind the smart suggestions like destructible environments and cool effects that add to the game but not take away, but yeah, Sometimes having a few bugs is good and funny. Like if you want to turn a Halftracks engine on Red, shoot it with a rifle in the lower derri

the way it is is better than any other FPS out there, but the fact that it has lots of flaws and the awesome alpha shakey cam video of RO2 has proven that it can be improved greatly with some changes and features. I'm already spoiled with that video and the announced features, so much, that I just can't enjoy RO:Ost anymore.

If you like the way RO is so much, then go play it instead of wasting your precious time in the RO2 forums

I'm all for keeping the game pretty much the same, just smoothing out the rough patches is all I want, and by rough patches, i mean ridiculous nade spam from no0bs

Most of my suggestions have been for stuff that is non-gameplay changing, like having the occasional female russian soldier

I play RO every day,perhaps your the one thats wasting their time, you should go and play something else if you dont like RO anymore.
Some of us still like the game and don't want to see it ruined by too many things imported from other games.

I call BS on that.

The stuff TWI is implementing is completely new and not imported from other games except a few minor exceptions, and no, i'm not playing RO(or any other first person shooter) so no, I'm not wasting my time.

I like what I see in RO:HoS, and I'm here because I look forward for it. If you don't, if you want it exactly the same, why do you even want a sequel... why are you even here? gtfo

What's new? Vast majority, if not all, of the features being implemented into ROHOS have been seen before. Granted, not in the same game, but they've still not completely new.

If suggestions and changes/improvements are within the nature of Red Orchestra (simulation/realism fps) then the game can only get better, not worse.

Also, if people are making suggestions to make the game better, it is actually an attestation to how much they love RO that they spend their time and mental energy thinking of how to make an already great game better.

Frankly, I would be happy with improved graphics and some new weapons and such for HOS to make me happy. I would really dislike, however, if TWI recycled 90 % of RO into HOS and then called it a brand spanking new game like the Modern Warfare series. That would blow...

ROLadder needs clans at the moment. Shame most only want to wait for ro2 to be realeased rather than play RO for its final bit of life.

I have to second that, whole heatedly. Yeah, some of the idea's may be stupid or rehashes from other games, but it still shows a love for the game and that has to be respected if you, yourself, also loves the game. I bet, even if they laugh at the stupid ones, that TWI loves to hear all the suggestions for that very reason, it shows them we LOVE it.

My only suggestion has always been, just better graphics. Yeah, back in the day it was great but now the graphics suck. Doesn't decrease my love for the game, just makes me wish for better and out of that wish is born HOS. And along with my wish an entire array of new stuff, some others suggested and some TWI themselves decided to implement. I don't think any of it is really new, or terrible groundbreaking but when you put it all together you get a truly ground breaking title.

Oh, my only other wish, is for them to hurry up and release it. I know, I know, more time spent equates to a better game and they're only a small team. But DAMN, I could care less about KF, I want HOS and it's taking sooooo long, it makes me almost want to hate them, but I can't hate them because I love them so much @_@ Terrible confusing. *sighs* At least I got my one wish, better graphics to give me a better immersive feel and along with that, many more things to make me want it that much more.

So don't hate on the people with idea's, be happy they're willing to share them and willing to ponder on them. And besides, I bet all of your idea's aren't always mind shattering great either, so don't even hate on the stupid ones; just smile and be happy that another fellow player loves what you love, so much.
