I love zombie killing/survival games and I would love it if you guys at Tripwire decided to bring The Killing Floor to the Playstation Network. This game would be huge on there with the proper publicity, IMO. Please Tripwire give this some thought.

First of all, a FPS is friggin uncomfortable to play with a PS controller. Secondly, I think the game is too old and we're in the wrong time, switching from the PS3 to the PS4. Last but not least, if you just want to play KF in a console, TWI is planning to make a KF game debut on the OUYA (http://www.killingfloorthegame.com/2013/06/08/a-killing-floor-game-on-ouya/).

Still, I agree with you, KF is pretty underrated (or even not known) among the general public, and that's a shame, since it has a lot of potential to become a smash hit.

The game has too many controls to fit a controller.

Indeed this. This is the main problem right here. On top of that, the game doesn't have auto aim / cross hairs to make up for poor / slow aim from thumbsticks.

I have made a configuration to use KF with a 360 controller, however many vital things like throwing money, weapons or using voice commands have to be cut to fit on a controller. KF on consoles would require a complete overhaul of the control scheme to accomodate the button mapping. On top of that it would require the games main element to be dumbed down or simplified (moreso that it has already) to make it possible for console players to play it.

TL;DR - No no and no. Hook your computer up to a big screen and play firebad with my 360 configuration if you want, its about all its good for.

SHM. Killing Floor is on the best-selling PC games list, has sold over a million copies, and is among the most played games on steam. I wouldn't say it's underrated.

Still, I think it's not mainstream. I mean, if you ask somebody to list zombie-based first person shooters, they'll say Left 4 Dead, Dead Rising, Dead Island, and so on.

Among the other already mentioned issues, it would probably need a big boost in graphics to satisfy the Playstation crowd. This engine is over 9 years old, after all.

It's pretty well-known among PC players, just not among console players. Looking at my Steam library, KF is second only to TF2 in terms of number of friends that also have it.

The game has too many controls to fit a controller.
Not only that, but the type of precision you need for a lot of the shooting in KF just doesn't translate to dual analogs unfortunately.
I wonder how well that Steam Controller would handle it. From what I hear it handled Counterstrike pretty well, and afaik that's the most precision-dependent shooter available for PC. (Global Offensive had a console release and I tried the demo. It's like trying to eat pizza with chopsticks; it'll sort of work, but you know the whole time that you're doing it wrong.)

inb4 we get into a big fight over the Steam Controller

Agree.

I actually found KF when i was browsing the Internet Movie Firearms Database.
The rest is another story.

Anyway, i do not consider it to be as well known as it deserves.

OP, tell me this. If you just bought a PS4, what kind of games would you be looking for? What would grab your eye on the shelf? This newly released 9.5/10 FPS which was designed for the PS4 with state of the art graphics, or this $20 game that looks like it was made an aeon ago? I know that graphics aren't everything, but when you have just bought a brand new console, there is an expected threshold to pass.

KF just wouldn't work right on a controller either.

I really don't care if KF gets ported to any console... as long as the console folk with their auto aim won't be able to play on the same servers as PC people.

I Think killing floor would need some tweaks to the controls but it could go on consoles. It would probably do well.
