I have never understood the removal of the Mauser C-96 broomhandle pistol from the game...Please tripwire I am begging you to bring it back!!!!!!!

1.Both Germans and Russians used the pistol.
2.The round is also the same in everyway (ballistically and physically)to the t-33 pistol round (a russian copy of the mauser round they loved so much).
3. The skin has already been modelled before so it can't be that hard to put it back in the game.
4. Having the removable 20 round mag M-712 schnellfuer with select fire capability and having the option to use the holster/shoulder stock to steady the weapon would be ideal but that would have to be modelled unlike the standard 10 shot version which is already been in the game before.

Pleeeese bring it back!!!!

There.. a grown man can beg.:)

It would be a very cool weapon to have and I didn't know Russians used it.

It still would've to be two different guns/models afaik. The Russians used the shorter C96 Bolo in 7.62mm, while the German Reichswehr and subsequently the Wehrmacht and Waffen SS had several 9mm versions.

There's also a belgian comic called Durango, whose eponym hero (possibly somewhat inspired by Trintignant in Corbucci's movie) wields a c96 (Drawing very much in Moebius/Giraud's style, ok classic stories, plus the c96 => pleasant read)

and coming back to the great silence, and at the risk of sounding like a broken record:

my main point is it wouldn't seem to be much work if the ballistics are already modelled and the skins already exist...WTF? Why not?

Errr.. there's a good reason you didn't know that ;)

The C96 Mauser was a popular sidearm amongst Soviet officers who could acquire it. For the Germans, most C96 pistols were issued to the ranks of the Waffen SS, while some of the other branches could also acquire the weapon if they had access. In spite of its inherent popularity, the model 712 of the C96 pistol was still pretty inaccurate with wide shot groupings at combat ranges.

What's actually sad about this weapon is the fact that the U.S. Army destroyed production and corporate records of the development of the C96 during WWII, which has confounded collectors to this day.

My understanding is that it was quite rare on the eastern front and even rarer on the red side. Even then, AFAIK only the SS used non-standard weapons like that. There are lots more standard issue and more prolific weapons that are not even in RO yet so it makes sense that they not include it.

I don't think that it is as simple as porting it over from the Mod either.

Now I personally would like to see the NAGANT REVOLVER in the game because it WAS in fact everywhere for the entire war. There were probably 5000 Nagant revolers in the EF for every one C96 I bet. Yet it is missing in the game.

It's great to have cool weapons in the game but I prefer prolific and more historically correct ones first. Let's leave the uber rare stuff for fantasy games like Castle Wolfenstein IMHO.
