This is suggestion thread, so suggestion is to fix it.

1. They are not happy with teamwork. Its hard to rejoin your team, when someone die. Its hard to report enemy location and your current location. (Suggestion: implement optional 1 life per round mode)
2. They are not able to select a weapon they like. Most of the time they play as a rifleman. (Suggestion: http://forums.tripwireinteractive.com/showthread.php?t=39088 )
3. Most cap zones are frustrating. We are unable to defend objectives by defending key points of objective. ( explained here http://forums.tripwireinteractive.com/showthread.php?t=38874 )
4. Lameness of playerbase: teamkilling, not correctly using key roles, not defending/attacking objectives. That happens often, which kills overall game experience. ( Suggestion: http://forums.tripwireinteractive.com/showthread.php?t=39415 )

Why my friends are not playing RO

They're too pansy.

Fixed it for ya.

Honestly. Get better friends. You only had one valid point, I'll let you figure out which one.

1. They are not happy with teamwork. Its hard to rejoin your team, when someone die. Its hard to report enemy location and your current location. (Suggestion: implement optional 1 life per round mode)

How does that help tell your team where your location and enemy location are? All you're hoping is that everybody stays close together, then the enemy grenade-spams your team, boom you're all dead.... game over.

What was that? 35 seconds of game play?

Fun stuff.

2. They are not able to select a weapon they like. Most of the time they play as a rifleman. (Suggestion: http://forums.tripwireinteractive.com/showthread.php?t=39088 )

Already being discussed in that link provided and is still active last I checked. All you're doing is trying to spam so that it seems more people somehow support your argument.

You talk about why your friends don't play, but I think you're lying and just making up a story to somehow support these cockamainy ideas of your's that have already been proven faulty and not supported by many.

Just look at your own poll.... over 80% polled disagree with your idea, so if you do have friends who don't play because of these things, then it's two people, and I'm suprised their first issues would be these things and not actual game play and weapon/vehicle usage.

Hmmm.... interesting.

3. Most cap zones are frustrating. We are unable to defend objectives by defending key points of objective. ( explained here http://forums.tripwireinteractive.com/showthread.php?t=38874 )

Then isn't that you're problem then? I don't hear many others complain about these things. If you're going to take out the information that tells you what's going on around you, where is the logic of keeping in the information on the map of what location is being attacked? Wouldn't it make just as much sense to take everything out? Afterall in real life, your map doesn't blink at you telling you what location is being attacked, esspecially in WWII.

But there's no reason to start this argument here when there is already a thread about this elsewhere... once again, spam.

4. Lameness of playerbase: teamkilling, not correctly using key roles, not defending/attacking objectives. That happens often, which kills overall game experience. ( Suggestion: http://forums.tripwireinteractive.com/showthread.php?t=39415 )

Once again, already debated to death for multiple pages on that supplied link and there is no logical reason to spam these things over again just to get people to bicker and fight over them again as if it's going to change anything.

Most people don't like those ideas.... get over it.

Now here's some real suggestions for the next RO:

• Keep the movements, aim, firing, sprinting, etc. exactly as it currently is but do include the motion of gun with breathing feature and any other ideas that may help improve game play, rather then detract and make gameplay more complicated then it already is for new players.

• Leave cap markers as they currently are, improve team play communications and team base operations/commands. Perhaps include locational character-based voice/text chat.

• Don't add perks to the game. Sure it might work great for Counter Strike or Killing Floor, but if you're going for a realism based game, it's not realistic to give certain players super powers or improvements over other characters..... it detracts from the player's actual game style that is already on par with other's styles and gives them an unfair handicap when in real life, if you get shot in your chest, you die... you don't have superman eye zoom powers to see farther then the other guy, etc etc..... don't go Arcade!

• If there are going to be tanks, bring them back to the fun they used to be in the Mod days (angles and strength, right now they're flimsy and might as well be trucks).... let MG barrels in tanks overheat. If tanks are involved, allow for bullets to pass through view ports for a small chance of taking out someone before getting rolled over. I know, chances are slim, but it's better and more realistic then shooting at some guy with a bullet proof view hole.

• The main thing that needs to be done is improve overall graphics, animations, visuals.... make the environments so immersive you feel like you're there.... which means lighting, lighting lighting.

The gameplay doesn't need to change beyond much of what it already is, it needs to be awsome looking when you get in, you need to have the sounds, the feel..... and you need to market the game more to the main stream.

Besides all of the stuff I read in here, a few gamer mags here and there and what's on Steam.... in North America, very few people heard of the game. Get it out there to be heard. Sure the internet is the way to go, but the other medias are still just as important, or they wouldn't still be around.

Communication improvements - Keep the current gameplay style - better graphics and environments - better marketing - fix the tanks - leave perks out.

I'm not about to start claiming my friends don't play because of these things, so do it...... I'm stating my opinion on the matter and why. If it makes sense, it makes sense. If it doesn't, it doesn't.... agree or don't, it's my view.

Others can speak for themselves.

Omg, not again, Cpt-Praxius.

I asked my friends and summarized problems.

It is pointless to explain something to you, Cpt-Praxious, since your arguments are always weak. Your overall experience in playing games is weak to discuss many things.
You even can't assume, that people, who don't like the game for specified reasons DON'T VOTE in our polls.
The thing is, you are not accepting the fact, that currently Red Orchestra is nearly FAILED project in commercial terms. FAILED means cost of developing exceeds money collected by selling it. Thats why developers turned into right direction by adding more options.
You are not accepting the fact, that, by adding OPTIONAL(!) features game could only WIN, since it cover wide area of player preferences.
You said you tried many mentioned games and most suggestion don't work there. Also, you said you don't like these games.
Experienced reader could wonder, HOW you managed to decide it, if you don't play them a lot. (unless you are masochist and playing games, which you don't like).
So most of your points comes into "This idea is crap, because I don't like it".

How does that help tell your team where your location and enemy location are? All you're hoping is that everybody stays close together, then the enemy grenade-spams your team, boom you're all dead.... game over.
What was that? 35 seconds of game play?
Fun stuff.
Very funny assumption.
Answering to your question is quite pointless, since you are not accepting any valid arguments.
But wait, let me try:
It helps on other games. Americas army2/3 for example. On some small maps deadly grenade-spams could have a place, but it never kills all.
(Unfortunatly aa3 is lagged/bugged game atm).

I don't hear many others complain about these things.
They are not playing RO because of these things, thats why you don't hear many complains.
Now go check forum about complains about these things from people, who actually PLAY RO.

If you're going to take out the information that tells you what's going on around you, where is the logic of keeping in the information on the map of what location is being attacked? I agree, Cpt-Praxius crappy suggestions...

would mark the end of Red Orchestra 2.

Customization and Unlocks are awesome as long as they arn't overpowered.

But along the main topic. Your friends don't sound like Red Orchestra players.

Omg, not again, Cpt-Praxius.

OMG UBERS!!!1111!!! NOES!!!!

Yes again..... you keep repeating the same crap, and I will do the same, don't like it? You know what you can do about it. Don't blame me for the crap you start.

I asked my friends and summarized problems.

It is pointless to explain something to you, Cpt-Praxious, since your arguments are always weak. Your overall experience in playing games is weak to discuss many things.

Ah, well that's a wonderful way of winning an argument.

Don't bother to ever point out any part of my arguments or reasons as being flawed and show off to everybody just how wrong I am.

Nope... just generalize and sum up that they're weak and I guess we'll all just believe you.

You have no idea about my gaming or what I know, so don't even try to act like you do.

If my arguments are weak, show how they are and stop wasting my time. I'd completely chewed the living crap out of your arguments, explained why and used examples how...... yet you're too lazy to even defend yourself properly to counter my arguments, let alone too lazy to debate any of my own arguments except by trying to pass them off as being "weak"

Sorry, just because you say so, doesn't make it so.... welcome to the real world where people know how to think properly and just don't let people spoon feed them crap all the time.

You even can't assume, that people, who don't like the game for specified reasons DON'T VOTE in our polls.

That's not my problem.... you create a poll in a forum for the game and people who come to these forums generally like the game, thus you're asking us, not the people who are not here, come off it and stop being so silly.

You want to know what people who don't like the game want in the game so they can start liking it?

Go find them and ask them, then come back to us. Until then all you have are the polls here (which prove the greater majority of people don't like your ideas) and your own hearsay of what you claim "Your Friends" want or don't want.

That's what I call a "Weak Argument" ~ Best go learn what that is and get back to me.

The thing is, you are not accepting the fact, that currently Red Orchestra is nearly FAILED project in commercial terms. FAILED means cost of developing exceeds money collected by selling it.

Really? And you know this how?

Please provide me with some sources to backup your claims, otherwise quit wasting my time.

As I have already said, if there is any damage in sales and profit, it's got more to do with the lack of marketing there was for the product where much of it was restricted in gaming magazines and Steam. You're not going to get a big audience unless you get the word out there better.... this is a given.

This I am not stating as a fact, but common sense in this type of industry and being someone who has post secondary education on the matter..... what do you got?

Assumptions you assume are facts with nothing backup them up.

And yet you keep telling me I'm the one with weak arguments.... you haven't provided squat yet.

Well duh.... that is why I have continually stated I am expressing my "opinions" and backing those opinions up with logical reasoning and common sense.... I'm not coming on here trying to act like I'm some big spokesman for a bunch of people for all we know, you made up to further your baseless propaganda for pointless and useless little trinkets that will only sell out the game to be just like all the other ones out there.

I played these mentioned games long enough to know what I like and what I don't like about them. I've played Counter Strike since it first came out for years before I found something better.... I played BF2 for the last number of years because my room mate suggest I get it and since I paid for it, I figured I'd try and get my money's worth out of it.

Some games I played for years to give them an extreme chance at winning me over, some I played for months, and a couple I played for only a couple of days.

I don't need to take the friggin game to a labratory and do all sorts of scientific tests on it to confirm if I like it or not..... I play it.... once I am sick of it, I am sick of it and I have my reasons why.

And those reasons are as already explained.

Very funny assumption.

Not an assumption since nade spamming happened plenty in the mod days and still happens plenty in Ost, esspecially with new players, which was pretty much the whole reason why grenades for specific classes were greatly reduced through updates through the mod and finalization in Ost.

The first thing one does when you see a crowd of the enemy is take out a grenade and toss it their way to get an easy 3-4 kills. Once more people see this happen, then you have more grenades being tossed..... and with ammo crates on maps in Ost, this can be done more and more.

And having only one life?

Not even including regular gun fire, tanks, arty, etc..... these matches would last only seconds unless you had a team mate or two camping and hiding somewhere.

Which isn't fun.

It never kills all all the time, but I've gotten 6 with one before followed by three other team mates who got another 7 with the four they tossed..... but even if not all were killed, the majority of whom who were killed with their one life, now gotta sit around with their thumb up their arses until the round is over.

I accept valid arguments, so long as they're valid.

But you still have not answered my question fully. You claim grenade spams couldn't kill your whole team then use some really vauge example of a game that is nothing like RO... and use that as valid justification.... yet how does this one life situation help team play any differently then the current system other then piss the other players off who have died and gotta sit it out for a 60 min round while one or two clowns run around doing their own thing?

People leave servers like that..... I know I do, because I paid for a game I want to play, I didn't pay for a game that just let's me watch other people play, or worse.... a blank screen.

People who used to just stare at blank TV's in the old days were considered crazy.... what would you classify this as where you pay for a game that after you die once, you sit there staring at a blank screen for 15-60 minutes at a time only to end up doing it again after 20 seconds of game play?

Say goodbye to new players and old players when that happens. I already was fed up with Warsaw's 45 second spawn wait for a small, close quarters map, I avoided that map with a passion. The map itself was decently laid out and the classes were fun to play, but the 45 seconds of sitting there doing nothing was too much and I went off to play other things.

Make the whole game that way and I won't play the game, it's as simple as that.

They are not playing RO because of these things, thats why you don't hear many complains.

Well if they don't voice themselves or put their name on some signed petition, I couldn't give a crap what you say they say, because it's all hearsay, which means for all we know, you're making it up.

Ever since I've been following Red Orchestra for UT2k4, not once have I heard of any of these crazy ideas being brought up until now and by two or three members alone against everybody else saying they disagree. If these were as big of an issue as you claim they are, how come they are only being brought up now, when back when it was a mod and all these things were the same, nobody said anything in the UT forums, or the RO forums, or any of the other forums for UT mods during the contest that won Tripwire their spot they have now.

RO won the contest because of how it was made, how the gameplay was like, and by many others who played many other games and mods for UT appreciating the hard work and all the effort they put into this game for it's realism and unique look from the actual UT game.

It's originality compared to every other game out there is what made them what they are now, and now we have people like you coming in here trying to take the whole damn thing and nerf it into some mutated Call of Duty, Americas Army, Battlefield 2 rip off.

What needs to be done is have better marketing and stick to the way things are going now..... keep it original and unique, don't screw around and try to copy some other hack of a game.

Now go check forum about complains about these things from people, who actually PLAY RO.

Already did and I already do play it, so I qualify, no matter how much you want to stomp your feet and ignore what's being told to you.

First you say I hardly play the game (wrong) then you claim I haven't been a part of the community long enough to know what I'm talking about (wrong) and now you're trying to claim I don't play the game at all to know what I am talking about (wrong.)

Keep digging yourself that hole.

Invalid questions. Referenced threads had complete explanations.

No they don't because I already posted and read that thread as well and it would seem some decided to take one thing out, but think it's perfectly fine to leave the other aspect in. I asked why you think this is logical and if you don't have an answer then it must not be logical and you have no justification other then to focus the game more towards your style of gameplay without actually considering other players.

That's the difference between you and I. I consider the game as it currently is, how I like it, and what others like...... all you consider is what suits you and your make-believe friends so they you can be better at the game and provide no logical or sensible explanations to back up your ideas except claim anybody who doesn't agree with you has "Weak arguments"

Face it, you're simply not going to win this.

I don't ask you to debate.

Then stick to Private Messages with your imaginary pals and don't create a public thread for anybody to comment on. You asked for it when you made the thread spamming more of your other threads that have already been rejected by the majority.

Don't like it? Don't like having people not agree with you?

Awwww.... Didd'ims, here's a muffin.

How you know?

Don't you mean "How would you know?"

Most people don't play RO because of these things.

And you know how? Sources? Studies? Polls?

Don't worry, I don't expect you to give me an actual answer or sources, since you haven't yet..... we just have to take your word on it

Thanks god you are not in dev team, and devs are disagree with you.

Wow, you like know talk good Devs and Devs No me Ideas, Me's Says.

English damit, can you type it??

Pulling more imaginary people talking to you out of your head again? You seem to have the George Bush Jr. Syndrome of "Staying the Course" when everybody shows you the cliff and you just keep going, ignoring all the facts & common sense in front of you and making things up as you go to justify your position, which always make even less sense then before.

They Devs's disagree with me and my ideas?

I never once claimed to be speaking for them, but it seems now you are their spokesman and you know exactly what they agree with and don't.

But if that's the case, and you have first hand contact with them and know what they want and don't want in the game..... why did you need to create a thread like this directing these dumb ideas to their attention to put in in the first place when you could have just called them up on your Bat Phone?

This has gotten so silly now, it's lost all meaning.... thanks for the entertainment though.

But your "suggestions" are funny. Its like: 1. don't change this. 2. don't change that. 3. don't change it.

You're point? Oh that's right, you never have one.

No please don't, since it seems all you did was link a bunch of other threads with a bunch of other random ideas and have yet to still prove or show a point to any of your arguments.

A monkey can do that.... heck even I could do that.... but what's your point with these links?

Someone could spend hours or days going through all these threads and their pages just to still not know wtf you're going on about.

All I see are various ideas for team play.... I already agree that better team play is required, but the ideas bounce all over the play and in each thread you have people who like and don't like a paticular idea..... all you did was flod this topic with more friggin threads to futher attempt to cloud the debate/topic at hand and try and make your position more clouded so that you can try and sqirm your way out of a position of being wrong.

Well I can tell it's annoying that you can't have an SMG f.ex. on Krasni, but hell that's life! It's like it was back then, there weren't that many auto firearms around like today. Call of Duty series with it's hundreds of AI soldiers armed with SMGs is not the reality and also the multiplayer of CoD is far away from reality with everyone being able to select an SMG.

Simple question: You want RO to become a CoD copy?

Once again, I can understand it's annoying that you can't pick a class. But honestly RO is rather fair to everyone and if you and/or your friends can't stand the hardship you earned yourself by running through Krasni's garage with a bolt-action rifle you should seriously stop playing RO.
That's far better if you might start stealing weapons from other players. :)

Or you simply go for CoD series. Where you can whine about the "evil campers" and get mad about the ammo the enemy can absorb before dying.

Tripwire said there will be a gamemode with 1 life i believe (although i don't know if they meant the coop mode with that).

The S&D crowd is huge and currently is completely untapped in RO at all, i think it would be bad if there would not be a gamemode that offers gameplay similar to the tastes of the huge S&D community. (personally i hope for a gamemode that plays like S&D but works with ro's default maps and multiple objectives).

Although i think for the default gamemode the teamplay must be made easier as well, especially in communicating to a certain player you want to talk to yet don't know his name.

Classes will always need to remain limited as simply otherwise all classes would need to be balanced against each other, and i rather see weapons being as awesome as they should be. However fairs ways to quicker shift through classes for people could be nice to have.

Lameness will always exist, although one of the few features i liked of AA in the long sense is that people must atleast have succeeded a basic trainging before using a weapon. And the ability for servers to accept all kinds of players , or if they prefer only allow weaker or stronger players. However what i think would be the most important is an easy kick and mute feature.

I see only one major problem with RO HOS.

WEBSITE IS SO LOW.

Its first impression, first eye contact, first advertise that game is interesting. Come on tripwire do something. I know that game is not finished yet but take more screenshots, upload videos from game exhibitions on your website. Also create more sub-sites, better design will be great too. Current website is disgusting for game itself, worst advertise about game ever. We have year 2010.

people get interested quickly and loose interest more quickly. Tripwire needs to save information till the game gets close to release to start a hype campaign in the months close to the release.

Dude this is easy to fix!!! Gather your friends and form a team, play other teams, not the retarded public players who sit back in windows at the other end of the map or take sniper and make 3 kills (kinda like when tina played for core :p ).

You then get to

choose your weapons,
learn tactics,
make kills,
?????

You sure like to try and speak for other people don't you?

Once again, if you don't know what you're talking about, save yourself the embarassment.

I was a member for a number of weeks when these forums were created and I left for a while.... and came back. I was also a regular in the old mod forums and was in those forums and posted as much there as I currently do here.

Now shall we continue to debate the poster and getting petty & personal or is there anybody left in here mature enough to attempt a mature conversation that doesn't require a pissing contest?

The funny thing is I already suggested this about a week ago but was ignored. I guess it's just too simple and easy to do that it just couldn't work.

your last post before your return was the 3rd of july of 2007 and returned in the 6th of december 2009.

And from that point on the tone of discussions started to change together with long post flamewars. For the long post with a negative tone both by you and the other parties (including me) are to blame.
