RS Why is this happening, please?

I've been trying to place a new layer of terrain down, and for whatever reason, on this section of land it does not like it. I've tried recache terrain materials.
This is the fifth material on the list. It works on another portion of the map, but creates the crazy colors here for some reason. Any help would be appreciated.

I did some snooping and figured it out. I didn't realize I had gone over the 12 texture limit. I now realize that layers =/= textures. Even though I have only 5 layers, I still went over 12 textures.
