why does this game take so long to load

hi i have been downloading this game for 2 and a half hours and its only downloaded 37 percent is this normal and if it is why does it ttake so long

Depends on your connection really.
It often helps to "pause download" quit Steam, restart Steam and then continue downloading.

My RO dir (minus mods) is like 4GB (including SDK mind you).. so obviously depending how busy the steam servers are, how good/stable your internet connection is, how busy the various peers from Steam to yourISP are, etc.. will depend on how long it takes to get the full thing.

It'll take some time.. and you can try to restart Steam to see if you can connect up to a different (read: less busy) Steam content server.

Damn man. I'm only a 7.5GB with the 16 copies of MareNostrum i have plus SDK and source files for MN, and the other 2 mods (sorry no DA :[ )
