Why does going prone suck?

In Osfront you could prone everywhere and anywhere. You could prone in a box. You could prone with a fox. You could prone in a house, you could prone with a mouse. You could prone here or there. You could prone anywhere.

Please give us the old prone back!? I have died so many times because of this "Cannot go prone here!" crap. Its terrible, if you are taking fire from an enemy, the first thing you do is hit the ground. You don't pace around for 30 seconds trying to find the perfect spot that looks like it will fit your glorious chiseled Bruce Campbell chin very comfortably. I really hope I am not the only one who feels this way...

Yeah this is pretty messed up. And once you do get prone if suddenly you hear an enemy approaching...good luck trying to do a 180....

In RO1 if somebody went prone by a wall you could see his feet stick through the other side lol. They have fixed that in RO2 but as a result you get a jolty glitchy movement when you try to turn and either your gun or legs hit a wall.

Edit: wrong thread, lol.

Is the prone kinda glitchy for anyone else? Sometimes I get stuck between stuff and all of a sudden my guy gets up without me pressing anything.

So you want to be able to clip through walls? Hide in rocks? You're not getting that back, so don't even bother asking. The reason you can't prone in some places is the same reason you can't prone just anywhere in the real world - if you can't fit in the space available, you can't do it.

What's so hard to understand?

they did that so your legs wouldnt clip through objects insanely because it didnt register your legs as part of the character model when you were prone. The new way is more realistic and I like that people dont prone in stupid spots where you can only see their upper abdomen because their legs apparently dissapeared into the wall.

In most cases you can prone, you just have to be facing the correct way in order to go prone. Ex: if you have 20 ft of space in one direction and 3 ft of space in the other direction, face the 20 ft way and then go prone. Also it helps if you don't try to prone when you are close and facing a wall (and plant your face into it), but do it parallel to the wall instead. Admittedly kind of annoying, but something to just get used to.

Also I find prone movement more accurate in regards to actually turning. No longer can you turn 360's with rapid speed like in ROOST, its now more like real life.

Proning is near perfect as it is now! It's great that they've adressed the ability to prone everywhere, that was buggy and unrealistic.

Also turning prone in tight spaces is more realistic, you may have to go into crouch and reposition yourself, then re-prone.

If collision is the problem, let me get my head down and turn so I don't collide.

I don't wanna die, I wanna lay down and keep my head low. If my character would be colliding through said sandbags or barrier, then I'll settle for my character automatically turning in the nearest direction so that I may lay down.
