Would be nice if someone made a mutator to add the MG42. But it's likely TWI will eventually add it.

There is no MG42 ingame because the only evidence of an MG42 actually being in Stalingrad is from a document detailing one of the infantrie division's weapons in stalingrad. They say they had 4 MG42's. One was broken, two tripod mounted and one operational. Still, more evidence than there is for the MBk42 being in stalingrad :/

TWI doesn't all that man power to put EVERYTHING in a game on release. They were not capable of even squashing all the bugs...

I definitely want to see the MG42 in game. Maybe TWI will add it later?

There is photographic evidence of the G41 being present in Stalingrad (a color photo, no less). I have seen it posted in these forums someplace. MKB and AVT were likely not present, however. MG42 will make it in game...official or mod is the only question.

i find it odd that they would use such rarely used guns vs the mg42.
the avt40 was just an emergency light support weapon, plus it had a 20rnd mag, vs the 10rnd mag in game.
it had such horrible recoil that they decided against using it.
if theyre going to be including obscure unused guns, why not the AVS36? why not the SKT-40? heck, let's even reach far back and make the AVF-16 (m1916 fedorov avtomat), that has a 25rnd mag, low recoil, so it would be much more equal to the mkb 42 than the crazy avt40.

I have to agree given that the MKB is in the game and there a much higher chance the MG42 was in Stalingrad. But i'm sure it will be patched in eventually.

because that wouldnt be historically accurate for the time period, at least not as historically accurate as having dozens of mkb42's, mp40/II's, and silencers on the battlefield.

TWI's logic perplexes me. either make an authentic game or dont; they're kidn of in between...
