I'm a longtime fan of RO, and I finally registered to search for info about the Digital Deluxe pre-orderr beta dates. Trying to decide on which version to pre-order.

Now, please look at this from my pov. I registered specifically to find information about this question. I then see a few threads started with the perfectly legit question about the date of the pre-order beta, getting locked, with no official responses. It's an important question to me, and I feel belittled for even thinking it, by having question threads locked without any official response. If these threads are unwanted, then I feel that it would be simple to post a sticky with at least a semblance of an official response.

Now, Maybe I missed something, I dug a bit and found nothing, so if I did, please point me to wherever this was discussed officially, or officially responded to.

This has not been a positive experience, and certainly has not made me feel comfortable starting a thread or posting here, nor have all the responses by others of "Don't ask" reflected well on this community.

Many don't have the luxury of time to browse these forums on a daily basis, and as such, are not exposed to all the posts that have been made.

This forum is specifically for the interaction with customers and fans, and simply locking threads without an official response is very unprofessional.

I'm a huge fan of devs like TWI. That's why I spent the time to write this feedback. I feel it is my duty as a customer to inform TWI of my experience.

There are more. . . .

People are buying your product, please at least respect them enough to post an official response, (or link to one) and not simply lock their threads. It's very disrespectful.

My very sincere apologies if I simply overlooked something.

There are no dates on when the beta starts, you just have to wait. The devs have their hands full of work and maybe dont even know themselves yet.

Just wait, thats what we all do.

Yes, I get it. 'Just wait like everybody else'. But the reason why everybody else is not demanding a date is because they suck up to TRIPWIRE devs and want to try to get in their respect book by defending them. If it was activision releasing RO given the same circumstances, there would be hell from the fan and customer base towards activision.

It is a perfected valid point to expect a beta date if a deluxe version of the game states said customers will get access to the final phase of the beta. How would you feel if the beta was released 29th August and you purchased the deluxe version primarily for the final phase of beta?

I just think a beta date should be announced, both for the people

?

I just think a beta date should be announced, both for the people’s interests and Tripwires, because people will refrain from buying the deluxe version if no date is announced soon.

I think its very likely thats why most people have preordered this version, more people care about the beta than some silly hats.

I fully realise the situation, but i can't disagree with peoples complaints.

But to stop all these threads the mods could simply put up a sticky saying don't ask about the beta.

And since there isn't and these people are honestly confused as to why they can't play it, we will keep getting them

Look at it this way, clicking refresh kills time towards the release of the game.

But on a serious note, I am going to guess beta comes out this Monday. Gives devs a solid 3 weeks. Just a guess of course, but I'm holding out hope.

Look, they aren't just going to launch the pre-order beta. They will be patching the closed beta thats already running, and to patch it, the patch has to be tested, and tested...ect.

They aren't releasing a date because they did that once, and missed the target big time, and took a LOT of heat for it. They learned from their mistake. The threads get locked because there is infact an official response from TWI about the subject.

I'm not going to bother giving you a link, because I found it for myself, so can you.

But what they said is, "It will be launched before the final release." Sounds pretty self explanatory to me.

I agree, though I have not been in hundreds of beta's, I been in several pre-order beta's over the years and usually get the invite a month to a couple weeks before the release.
As well, it should be noted ( regarding the assertion that they might release the beta on the "29th") this is also coming out in box form form the 30th, so The beta will need to be done and tested before they burn and ship the DVD's.

I must agree with the op, even though I know their is no set date because I check these forums on a daily basis.

For the 100's/1000's of people who have just bought the deluxe version and go to steam libary-HoS2 and see only a link to the forums, It's inevitable they are going to start threads like these!

Maybe making things a little more crystal clear would certainly help people very much in the dark on what's what.

These forums recently have been pretty heated and this lack of clarity is only fuelling the fire.

Just my two cents.

peace

If you are pre-ordering the deluxe version just for beta, you're pre-ordering for the wrong reason. Just saying.

I got it just so I could play it sooner .. I go back to work when school starts and would like to get a couple days game time in before it starts. I say there is a large number of students and faculty that are in the same boat as me.

I've also seen alot of posts stating that they got the deluxe but dont want the unlockables. I would guess they got for early access aswell.

how is that wrong?

I agree they can release it on the 29th if they choose but I dont think they want to set that kind of example with all the new players coming in.
