Okay, I've gone over the 4678 character limit, whilst still using the mutloader by trying to have 28 entries on KFMapVote.ini file. :eek: And I've just only implemented the new Doom3KF mode into it! :(

Is there.....um, another mod/method to decrease the character count further or an update to the Map Vote handler....so that it can handle my 28(and possibly more; once I have finalized the Aliens, DeadSpace and other modes) entries of options...? ...or is it GG for me? Hahaha...:rolleyes:

According to http://www.lettercount.com/ I have 6443 which is 1765 characters more than the limit before server crashes, unfortunately as suspected due to overload.

If not, and it *is* possible to either further decrease character count or have it compatible with the new amount of entries to the MapVote ini file, can someone guide me on how to do it...? I prefer not to remove some of the entires or edit some characters/words out as that'll leave out details and make the option not make any sense at all. For example if I skimp the Doom3KF mode, players wouldn't know if it's the ScrN fix verson or the original beta, until they load it of course...but some players prefer to think before action.....and that's what all those worded entries caters to...

Delete all beginner difficulty votings, it ss useless anyways. Simple, quick.
But what about for those newbies(not noobs, newbs - they're a different species. :p)...? You know, cater for those who are just starting out(or for some reason(for some people) feel like being a powerhouse in KF1 and rather play beginner difficulty than any higher even though they're lvl 6....coz they can and want to overpower anything with relative ease)....? Or you reckon Normal is enough even for someone who's never played a first-person shooter before?

Ok well I removed those seven entries and still it's over, but character count is now at 5378. Ok so this time it starts up fine, but then when I access Web Admin, it crashes.... I was gonna say: "Wow I guess I was wrong, maybe it can deal with more than 4678 characters. [Goes to check on WebAdmin to make sure those entries are correct, server crashes] Ok....maybe not...."

Even so, if I do manage to come to terms with DeadSpace and Aliens mod, I would still need to create eight more entries for them......and I just deleted seven of them and server still doesn't like it....how will I make room for them...? Hah...

You'll need to figure out what you want on your server. If right now it's everything, still remove Beginner and Normal is the lowest anyone should go.

The only other option is to get another server for other stuff.

Hahaha yeah everything and more to come such as the DeadSpace one and Aliens KF if I like them enough to add.

So that's it then? Besides removing some more entries so it's below the character limit and getting another server to take the load off this one, there's no other way of fixing this?:confused: That seems harsh....and I wanted a single personalized comprehensive public server.....:(

Wouldn't make sense to literally have almost all gamemodes on your 1 server.
I thought it was possible? I joined a few servers(back when they were still running) that had options as many as I have now(I never really counted how many options they had but it was a full drop-down menu like mine, but I remember that glass mod thingy(where you would shoot the walls/floors and ceilings and they would break away and leaving and the other team standing on beams or trying to avoid a nasty fall at the pit at the bottom), GunGame, all the modes of ScrN, even vanilla game mode was in it, it had super zombies and pretty much everything you can thing of!) and probably more or so I thought, so thought I could do the same too...?

Never thought there were restrictions like this silly character limit via MapVote, which I only found out this year after finally getting the time to do up my server........


I guess I'll have to prioritize which ones to keep and which ones not worth keeping....I hate forgoing stuff coz I have no more room, this applies IRL as well....hahahaha
