hi, I had some time ago exactly the same question. My old thread you could possibly help
On my VPS currently run two servers. At idle, about a need 250-268 MB and under load 278-289 MB.
And the CPU has a capacity of 4-8% at 2.000 GHz.
KF servers (6 Slot anyways ) use up hardly any CPU / RAM, you'd have no issues hosting a server on the most basic of VPS's. Just keep an eye on it and restart it from time to time so things don't build up and cause problems. Mainly due to your connection speed, if you've got a fast connection you've got nothing to worry about. ( going to ask a friend of mine to check this post as he's more into the hardware side of things and he also hosts a few servers from his VPS )
My VM running a KF server runs on a single CPU 2.8 Ghz with 2GiB of RAM. As for storage: dunno, don't care. As for bandwidth usage: With 6 players ~300 Kbit/sec
Please note: VM and VPS are fundamentally the same. The only difference is the product its running on (XEN or VMware)
