i think it was confirmed that you can only hear your native (or local) language and there wont be voice language options

They did record all the voices for both russian & german, so i cant think of a reason why they could not add those in there, if you like it for realism.
I think ill play english first, when i learn the game more i would switch for their native language if possible :)

No English, unless the English voice acting is really good like it was in Company of Heroes.

"Wesreidau, retake that objective!"

Voice Chat > Team > Response > *****

They said in a thread (don't have time to search for it, at work atm) that the team you are playing on speaks english and the enemy speaks either german or russian. This is partly due to the huge amount of memory that the voices use up and and partly due to that they, TWI, feel that 3000 lines of german/russian is to much for the average gamer. The battle chatter includes important information that you would miss otherwise.

Some countries will have localization for the language. I think Germany and Russia have been "confirmed".

As above post said, we have to do english voices.

But if (or when?) the option does make it in the game, full native for me:cool:

Why would you want English voices? Maybe for singleplayer, but definitely not for multiplayer.

Cause if I only spoke Russian then the rest of my team should too. It'd be like you were a foreigner if you spoke English on axis but everyone around you speaks German, since all the trillions of battle-chatter lines aren't in text form and are fully dynamic, I should be able to understand my teammates, not my enemy, no matter what side I am on, and what language I natively speak.

Wait so they arent even giving us the option for having the teams speak Russian and German only?

Correct.

They have mentioned that it MIGHT be an option in the future but it's neither confirmed nor would they prioritize it if they started to look into it (not 100% on the prioritize part).

Perhaps, but i don't see how the battle chatter is going to help you play the game better. Being on a vent channel with your team seems like a better idea. And if it doesn't help you play better it's only for immersion. And i think it's more imersive to have Germans speak German and Russians speak Russian.

So people want 3000 lines of battle chatter, some with important information, in a language they don't understand? You'll probably be detrimental to the team in that case. I'm taking English for my team. Say you're in the Russian army during WW2 and you hear a German guy speaking; you only speak Russian. You now know there's an enemy whereas there's always the chance for mistaking a language if you don't speak it. It's the same idea here except in a language you know.

Anyway, maybe they'll add the option later, but from what they've said it's only going to go based off of localization. Adding all the spoken dialaogue as an option from the start would add a lot more in terms of file size.

I will have it in English for my team, but I'm with Wesreidau (like Guy Sajer!) and I'm hoping it's good voice acting!

"I svear I haff been over zees ground ten ****ing timez!"

"Sure, I vill hide zis, Giant Gun".

Classic.

Like someone else said in a different thread, it's not like russian and german are some fantasy languages that nobody speaks. I know enough german to get around, I don't speak it well but I can understand a lot of it. There's bound to be more like me, or russians/germans living outside their home country.

Also, you'd have to be pretty ignorant to be able to mistake german for russian and vice versa, even if you don't understand what is said. One is germanic and the other is slavic, completely different.

Since all of the english sounds should have german/russian counterparts (that the enemy team hears), this shouldn't be too hard to just mod.

yes but it should be an option officially sanctioned by tripwire, considering they have the localisation for the other languages there ready to go.
