i think probably neither as the engine seems to be the main problem with this game.
It might look pretty but for some reason its nowhere near as raw.
Not only that but unfortunately i cant see the bigger maps working at all because of the performance problems.
If u asked if RO2 would be better if it had the old engine, then i'd say yes.

RO1 with upgraded graphics would be better in most ways but for one: the robotic movements.
In RO1 I never felt I was in direct control of my soldier, more like I was a tiny alien inside the soldier's head controlling him with levers and pedals.
