Over here, no not there, here.
What the hell guys.
Why
why does this always happen?
I don't think this is even political, it's just stupid.
Female characters in the game isn't some conspiracy, it's about having more character variety. If this thread turns into a mess of philsophical/political debate it's getting closed.

Personally I really liked KF at the beginning when it was just a ragtag group of police and military personnel. But if they're going to add androids and dudes in chicken suits then it's only fair that a bunch of female characters of different types get put in too.

I do think that KF has been way over the top with gas mask characters though. Unless all these characters believe that there is some kind of gas that's going to get them, I just think most of them wouldn't burden themselves with wearing one all the time. Things like balaclavas and riot helmets are cool though.

Well, I too don't understand this discussion about female characters. All I care about is what kind of people a group of survivors could realistically consist of. And I'm sure as hell there would be women around too. AND a bit crazy/goofy characters too.

On the other hand, adding women to games for the sake of it is extremely stupid. If this were the army we were talking about, for instance, adding women there would be pathetic pandering since it doesn't happen in the real world either.

There are women in the British army (And I'm sure other ones). Just saying.

I don't see the problem with Steampunks. They can be explained away by many conventions, and if someone likes it, someone likes it. Barely effects the game, so long as it fits the general quality of everything else. For example..

It's just a nerd who likes steam punk and cosplays, then evolves to "that steampunk guy" by wearing steampunk cosplay in his apocalyptic survival. Just as there'll be that guy who wears full length trenchcoats in the apocalypse for no good reason, they're so damn impractical.

Wow what world do you live in
Let's look at the US army - women serve in 95% of all Army occupations and make up about 16% of the active army

For somebody who wants realism, it would be best that you check reality first.

Calm down folks. I'm not American and I was under the assumption they don't allow women into the actual firefights for some reason

apparantly women make up 50% of the worlds population. who would have known? in fact at 2010 the world ratio is 102:100 102 men to every 100 women.

so it stands to reason that the survivor cells that form these six "man" squads may actually include women. now given gaming populations in violent games have a much lower ratio of women to men it's reasonable to expect less female characters to choose from. but none is unrealistic

i'm fine with any kind of suited character. if your in a chicken suit when cloned cannibals attack...then your in a chicken suit. your not going to go get changed.

after that initial attack you might, but the game doesn't actually have a linear progression the sequel happens at a later time so maybe the chicken guy has taken his mask off or even found new clothes. or maybe he's a furry and just swings that way. i'm not judging, he's a badass

Really I just want characters that are actually dressed for combat, somewhat. Like, a Mall Santa or Reggie the Rocker? Not so much.

Honestly weirder things have happened. If it was a total apocalypse I wouldn't be surprised at all if someone was wearing a weird suit. It would provide some protection plus some people are just odd. Takes all kinds.
But wouldn't the loss of mobility and visibility far outweigh the little protection it provides? And I mean, even if **** did go down while he was in the suit like osmodeus said, I seriously doubt he was packing so much heat. So he had to stop and get all the supplies from Horzine, which would have been the perfect time to equip, say, some kevlar instead.

the kevlar in game is invisible so maybe he did
