Frequent the forum less, especially these kind of topics. Instead, go online, find a server and play. There can be silly group behavior where the same amount of people log in to play in a day as during 'high traffic times', join a server, say 'no one is here' and leave. Then 1 minute later, another does the same thing. It seems empty because they were not all there simultaneously, because they each spent a minimal if any time in there. So take the plunge.

Yes, I took a brief break to try out BF3, but back again. I like accessability, but that game was just too far gone arcady for my taste. I want my fantastic gunplay, sounds and maps.

I more or less stopped playing too after the game breaker in the campaign where you can't finish the german commander training.

There is no point playing MP while the stats aren't working either.

So I'm waiting for a patch that solves that and other things. I think they should've waited with release before they got UI and the rest sorted. But, I don't know how much experience they have, are they programmers at all?

Not sure what all the fuss is about - those are still some pretty strong numbers. When an indie game like this can have more than 20% of the players of the biggest FPS franchise in the world, it's got to be doing something right. The playerbase in Australia is almost as big as it was at launch.

I dont understand you call this a indie game? its price wasnt any near any other indie game I ever bought, thats for sure.
The normal price of this game is 35 euro, so that is like 5-10 euro less then any other PC game I ever bought.

To be honest the price of this game is also too high, we pretty much still playing a beta right now and even without the bugs the game is pretty lackluster with the small amount of maps and vehicles at this moment.

I stopped playing a day or two after the release. Too much crashes for no reason, while the game is working with great fps and the stats are not working. I am not coming back till all this **** is fixed or IC:V is released with everything ulocked for everybody since the stats are not working.

The beta and day 1 & 2 were absolutely fantastic!! it was mainly rifles Vs rifles, and a sheer joy! :D

As soon as the "day one unlocks" worked, it all went to pot.

I'm SURE they will fix it! They just have to prioritise.

Blame the "its not worth playing if the stats don't work" whingers, if anyone!

I'm a RO1 vet. This unlock bug has ruined a bit the fun. But the main reason is most of the maps aren't that great. They havent been tested long enough.
The right side of KomissarHouse is completely empty. The objectives are non-sense. People dont know what to do, unless they have played a dozen times the map.
RO1 was more basic because maps were mainly assault/defense. But it was coherent.

dont know - I seem to play the same maps over and over again; granted I play from the german perspective - but I dont have a issue with most maps ...

its a few bugs that tend to mess things up ...

my 2 cents worth

I love the attention to detail, the historical accuracy, but there is something to be said for those quintessential MP maps of two forts and the big hill in the centre. Everyone knows what to do as soon as they enter the map.

What this game needs is your standard D-Day beach assault map. Who doesn't love those?

Fallen Fighters still make me rage. Just wtf, the capture zones are riddiciliously irrationally placed that it's not even fun.

I mean seriously, what kind of retard would order soldiers to first to take control of the open field that's surrounded by buildings, instead of capturing the buildings SURROUNDING the open field first?

In urban combat, flat open field holds no strategical or tactical value whatsoever. It is the buildings from which you can control the surrounding battlefield.

I reply as an Ostfront "vet"who played RO2 for like 30 hours in the first few days then almost gave up.

I have gone back to RO cause I still enjoy it more (sorry...) but I'm still planning of coming back as soon as bugs/balancing/realism issues are fixed or mods are out. I hoped in a faster resolution of bugs.

The servers browser issue is particularly annoying, often i have to relaunch RO2/Steam 5-6-7 times in a row just to play.
And if unfortunately the server i'm joining gets full in the meanwhile...i have to do the same things again, it's discouraging.

Imho this issue alone has kept away a lot of players.

And we need more maps, i'm tired of playing the same over and over again, especially considering I really like just a few of them.

I stopped playing because of the random performance. For example: I start the game and the performance is good, after playing some maps I quit and some hours later I start the game again and the performance sucks, without a patch beeing released meanwhile, deleting ini doesn

No it aren`t the maps it are the players who doesn`t assault.

Let's just ignore the fact that two maps encourage (almost require) spawn camping....

Kommisars and Pavlovs.

But if you think it's fair that the Russian spawns can be surrounded and fired INTO; well I guess you must be happier than a pig in mud.

Big shame about this game. They ruined it trying to bow down to COD thingies trying to get more money. I just imagined this game being made for people that like realism on top of every other thing. I'm just amazed how tripwire really though they can appeal to the cod crowd. They have their own game and you will never make them go away from it. As they say: "going after someones footsteps will never make you outrun him"

I love RO2, but I haven't had the time to play recently.

Unfortunately it's two weeks until my midterm exams, so I have hardly any time to play.
