Im new here still, I think my PC can run it on lowest settings possible but Im curious, Can anyone recommend where to buy it from? I heard steam, other and physical copy. I never used steam, I mean I hardly ever use my computer for gaming so this is still new to me. Help?

You'll have to create steam account, no matter if You buy it on steam or boxed version. You'll have to istall the game using Your steam account, and RO2 will be taged forever to the account You used while installing boxed version/buying online steam version.

Basically the main differences between steam and boxed version are:

-price (I know it doesn't make any sense but in Poland boxed versions are much cheaper then steam versions)

- fact if You want to have nice looking box on Your compuer shelf :)

BTW. Welcome and see You online!

Either way you will end up with steam on your computer, personally though i'm going with the boxed version because it's a near insta-install the day i get it and it's a nice addition to the pile of pretty boxes on my desk :p

If you want to be able to play the game ASAP, you should buy boxed. Steam downloads can be really bottlenecked during game releases.

You can pre download the game several days before release, and it sits on your computer until release day, then BOOM, no install, no hassle.

Also steam gives TWI more money and faster, and you get it for cheaper. Not to mention it's cheaper!

I hope it would work that way but apparently before during some releases it hasnt? And nowadays Steam is usually more expensive than retail/other stores, except discounts.

Not in America, a game normally runs a few bucks more in retail. Not to mention Gas money to travel to the store, for me that would be a half an hour drive to the nearest shop that might sell HOS.

The developers get a bigger cut from the Steam version so if you want to support them as much as possible, you buy it from Steam.

Where I'm at buying boxed versions of games is impossible, with most games costing more than 100 bucks no matter what(I saw CODBO at 160 dollars once)... besides, Steam is worth the couple (or perhaps ten?) hour wait, no matter where you live, Direct download is the future!

Really won't matter, since its a SteamWorks game. It will activate on Steam and you can download the game through Steam.

Yeah, I know that, but what do I want? The preloading from steam and instant play, or having to wait longer for my copy although it has a sexy box + manual?

Don't you get it delivered @ launch over there?
I usually order my games online and receive the game in the mailbox, usually 1 day before release, but that won't help since it doesn't activate on steam until the 30th.

Make a Steam account, it's free. Upon release you will be able to purchase it directly from Steam. Piece of cake.

Noob question, but is it a given that a Steam purchased copy will not have an e-manual? A guy like me really needs a manual for a game like this, hehe.

Here's to hoping for a pre-load... Anybody remember Bad Company 2's release? Everybody downloading at the same time. It took about 5 hours to download the game, then another week to actually enjoy it due to EA's crappy partners that hosted servers.

I'm glad TWI isn't restricting us to GSPs, I have a perfectly good dedicated server on a very fast connection ready to host a server.

On Topic: I'm getting it on Steam. Has to activate on Steam anyways and I don't have any local game stores that actually sell PC games anymore. Ordering it online would mean I'd have to wait probably 3 days after release and pay more than what I'd pay for the Steam copy.
