So I made a new skin for my gun. Great. Followed the guide on the workshop. Really bad guide. Eventually just looked up a video and got through it in under ten minutes. Great. I saved everything.

Now I have no clue where in this interface my package or whatever it's called is. I can look it up, but that's it. Where do these files go when you save them, just some random holding folder that isn't listed?

Edit: Scratch that, does anyone just have a good tutorial on how to edit weapon skins for this game? Pretty much running around in circles because the only listing for tutorials are 'how to make whole new weapons and weapon models!' that never explain how to use this interface or how to just edit the skin. Literally sitting on a pile of textures I can't do anything with because there's no simple explanation on how to use this SDK :/

I don't recommend getting into modding for a dead game on an obsolete engine, but the wiki has the official way to do it. Personally, I just split the .upks with umodel, edit in GIMP, then reimport textures as a .tga and apply it to the gun model. Save it all out, put it in your "published" folder and you get a passable skin.

Dead? The game is barely out, how is it 'dead' already?

There are many reasons but the two that are keeping me from playing it full time is the lack of mod support and all the retarded perk training servers making it almost impossible to find a real HOE server

Those I can get behind, but from what I can tell the game is going strong. Admittedly I don't play it as much as I did Kf1, and it is the perk system that's holding me back. That and the massive amount of furry hate that bogs down matches. I can't seem to get a pub game where someone isn't going 'omg furries everywhere' and trying to be a dick to everyone one the server, furry or otherwise.

That aside, again, are there any tutorials on how to edit skins with UR4? I know it's an odd thing to say for some, but I've never really worked with UR4 or the UR engine period.

KF2 doesn't run on UE4, it's on a heavily modded UE3 engine sadly I dunno of any tutorials for it. My only guess is to go to BeyondUnreal and check around there wiki page
