Where are the custom maps servers?

Turn that frown upside down! People are still making maps, and they're easily enough downloaded from the links provided in the forums. :p

Nobody is playing them, though. We have all these nice maps and no-one to play them with.

Guys! the reason "NO" 1 is playing custom right now is, something happened patch, or 2 go with the SDK. All the New custom maps have spawn issues, where the spawn points disappear. Also issues with objectives not showing up correctly, not being able to use recon planes..etc,etc.. I believe only ogledow and Butovo are fine with those issues. and thats because they were cooked with an earlier version.

This has noting to do with redirect. Redirect works just fine!

I hope TWI fixes the problem soon. otherwise there won't be no community custom maps :(

I know few LD's are already fed up with this.

No, because bots can shoot back unless otherwise hampered.

Is the broken redirect issue being looked into?

Are we going to be able to run custom maps without issue eventually?

We've tried to reproduce this locally by building using the public SDK and hosting on a server and so far we have had no luck.

I just took the Attack Defend SDK map you guys made, build it, saved under different name, so i don't have mismatches. I cooked it, put it on my server, and same problem occurred. Something is happing during the cook process. Even the fonts in the center of the screen that tell which obj is being captured look different.

I played Univermag and Coldsteel on a server yesterday and there where no issues (missing sounds/ Covernodes...) like on other servers. So the problem probably could be the serverconfiguaration or a mutator.

@Wolverine...

Perhaps you could resetup your server with a virgin configuration and try it again... ;)

No no no... this is not only my server. both of those maps you mentioned been having the problems in pre-beta release testimg...just check the modding forum, and you'll see what im talking about.. hell, rekrut has giving me Univermag so i can try and fix it. he used the same spawning set up from Butovo for Univermag. Butovo works just fine, but Univermag doesn't.both maps were cooked with a different version of the SDK. Maybe something is wrong with the server files?who knows, maybe they didn't patch the servers with the last patch for sdk? many many servers are having this issue with these maps.

Only 2 maps that work, as far as spawn points, radios, etc...are Ogledow and Butovo. And like i said they were cooked with an older version.

Ogledow B9
Butovo B4
Provkhoy B2
The Univermag A3
Coldsteel B1

And yet no one wants to play them.

Why?

Actually, we are planning to dedicate one of our servers to just these maps. The only reason it hasn't been done already is because our server admins have been tied up with family issues. Be patient. Many of these maps are available on various servers like 40-1. Go there. I have. :rolleyes:

A full custom map rotation (and maybe the larger vanilla maps) + Antilag = my new home server

There is something wrong. The only problem is what ?

TE-Coldsteel is running as it should on The Old Gits Army server while it wont work on others.
It beats me why but this is something I can't solve as where should I start to solve what ?
As we exeriences the same troubles during a servertest on the TDP server.

I had some PM's with TW-Swag. He did try to set up a server with my cooked files and he
did cooked the map to test. Both tests didn't show anything wrong. So I decided to release the map.

Then I notice it worked as supposed on the The Old Gits Army server.
I only did not seen that server get filled with real players while TE-Coldsteel was on so it would
be nice to see that happen this week.

If the cause of these problems won't be found soon. I see no logical reason to work on custom
maps or content. As its already a kind of voluntary suffering to create custom content and
notice the dwindling playerbase. I haven't played a decent game without bots for a while now.

I hope people will take time to support the custom maps and join servers running them.
Its free content for a game you payed for.......

So join The Old Gits Army server. to play Coldsteel at 109.70.149.161:7779

Or join any other server to run custom content.
