What's the point?

I'd like to ask the Devs/Mods a question.

What is the point of any of us trying to keep up interest in this game, and attract more players if all they can see in your forums are the same whiny, entitled posts repeated over and over again and kept bumped up on the first page?

The morons with the martyr sigs, the historians with too much spare time and anyone I've forgotten are openly turning players away.

Why do you allow these so called loyal fans to deride you, your company and your game so openly? Ultimately this is costing you money!

Why should we bother to try and continue to support you and increase the playerbase when you seem to genuinely not be interested in what is said or insinuated on these boards?

Any good work that any of us might do is more than mitigated by the dross in here.

Have I missed something or am I right, and we are wasting our time?

I believe the complaints are quite justified on this board. Don't you think?

What should they do? Censor posts? Bann people? Shadowbann people? That was done on Operation Flashpoint: Red Rivers forums. Did it make anything better? No, the game was canned, and people were even more upset.

The only thing to say about all these complaints are imo: Live with it, deal with it.

If anything, these issues should be dealt with and not left in the dark.

Just to make you feel good about yourself, they do delete posts now and again (which they adress falsly as trolling while it's mostly stating facts but whatever). Whatever makes them keep the smokescreen up

Yes, because a game company ignoring their forums which are giving them huge warning signs about what's wrong with their game is a good thing. That would REALLY make RO2 a better game, wouldn't it?

In my humble opinion:

They shouldn't do anything about the forums. If anything they've locked too many threads I feel. The game was released without final polish as that is what many community members advocated instead of waiting for more delays. After release many new community members were formed and were unaware that this was the state of things, expecting a finished game (or ready for release with all of the features TWI stated.) The threads have moved from 'I can't play' to 'I won't play' because they have been steadily releasing patches. As more of these game breaking bugs are fixed they will move onto game play, releasing these features and updates steadily as they have already been. They have to be closely observing whatever statistics they monitor as well as the forums otherwise they would not be in business. To utterly ignore your customers would be disastrous.
