He means that you need to open Mysh River up, then reload packages again (separate from the package loading you have to do each time you start the program up). Those trees should be in the package called something like te-MyshkovaRiver, because every custom asset in a map has to saved in a separate package called by the name of the map, and if you save your custom assets to anything else or alter stuff and don't save it to that, it will screw with things. They are called Harley Pines.

SDK wants me to save a stock package, which of course I havent. The problem is now that I do not know what object is in my map that is causing it to want to re save the package. Whatever it is, I added it long ago and have been ignoring it for some time as I thought I knew what it was.. (German Skeletal Mesh helmets seem to cause this problem)... but I was wrong so how do I diagnose which actor in my level is from this particular package (props_static_mats)?

Open content browser and primitive stats, then click name so they go to alphabetical order and find props_static_mats. Double click it and it selects that mesh from the map. It doesn't take you to the mesh tough, so activate rotation mode so you find it easier.

Thank you this was a good guide, but the package mentioned is not listed? Now I am really confused where this is coming from .

By the way, I have that same props_static_mats thing every time I quit udk and save the work. Never saved it, one time I tried to save it the udk crashed.

Well I tracked it down. I had a destroyed brick from this package set up as a mesh in a foliage volume. It appeared in game as default material covered bricks, so I just switched it to some rocks and both problems were solved

Use Simple Collision For IK.

What difference does it make to the static mesh if one of these is selected ?

I seem to be at a loss over this, i want to make a song come out of a radio, but whatever ambient sound i add, the sound is in the entire area and not coming out of the radio! Anyone know how to make it work?

What is the exact way to make Rising Storm static meshes to work in RO 2 ?.

My understanding is that when you make a copy from the materials and save them to your package, the meshes should look normal online, right ?.

But how do you do save them to the package permanently, everytime I save them and exit UDK, next time I open it and fully load everything, copied materials have disappeared from my map package.

Unused things in the map are cleaned from the map package after saving the map if I'm not wrong. Just use things you want to keep in your map.

Regarding RS static meshes, they normally work in a RO 2 map. I did not test right now, but I never think about 'is this meshe for RO2 or RS?' I just use anything in SDK.

As long as the mesh is part of the base game, I was under the impression that you can use any mesh in a custom map without saving it locally. I have used assets from both games in both of my custom maps without problem. As Omano stated, if you save something to your package, make sure you place it somewhere in your level or it will not be there when you open the map next.

You changed the name right? And applied it to the material list in the mesh's advanced properties? Then all should be well.

All of the Myskovia River stuff works just fine. One thing, however, like many of the static mesh buildings in the RO packages, the Myshkovia River buildings don't have any collision so you'll have to add blocking volumes to make up for it.

Any map that was made official is now part of the stock game and its assets are available to you. You would only run into problems if you tried to use assets from a custom map that you cant guarantee everyone has installed

Thanks, this saved alot of time. I was about to start constructing them out from bsp :rolleyes:.

Does anyone else have this issue with Actor Factories (including Fixed MGs) in Kismet?

When you click on the drop down for the vehicle class or MG class of the actor factory, the list is so narrow that you cant read what you are selecting? I have tried resizing and reallinging this window with no luck.
