What would you show if you could pick the stuff for the next HOS trailer.

What could be a cool idea is recreating some authentic Stalingrad footage with RO2 gameplay.

Also, a comparison vid showing the (graphical) diffirences/improvements of RO2 over Ostfront.

1) Pure gameplay recorded with FRAPs (or in game recorder). Proper sounds, no talking. HD.

2) A video that shows off all of the new features. Cover system, MG bipod system, 3D scopes, interiors of the tanks, the damage models to the tanks, gore system, ect. Again recorded with FRAPs, proper sounds, no talking.

I am sure both videos will gain a lot more followers.

Gents, you forgot about one thing. Trailer suppose to be short, catchy and says about game as little as possible. So for trailer which is purely commercial material I would like to see 45 seconds/1 minute video with many short but full of actions scenes from game.

Beside trailer, video blog with materials explaining features of games, what they do and how they work in multiplayer. Next how realism is fun, easy and very enjoyable to play but require a bit of training - like in ArmA 2.

Last video, comedy (similar to Homefront's Duty Calls), where one guy tells about their new multiplatform game, how great it will be, how innovative and how they think about PC release because they added prone feature to game. Then comes footage from RO2 with all new features and sign "Prone, we have it since 2004".

just my 3 cents :)

Well then consider it to be about video footage in general not only trailer material. The thing of a trailer is to show as much as possible in as little time there is available.

It doesn't have to fit in the small TV commercial period as it won't be on TV commercials anyway. As long as it keeps people their attention it could even be a full movie for all that matters.

why p50 when most computer monitors are 60hz, and even all HDTV's support 60hz.

Well, if the video is 50 or 60 fps doesn't really matter for me. I just stated 50 because of its smoothness with 1st-person footage, compared to lower frame rates.

I'd like to see TWI produce a really damn impressive trailer, combining cinematic elements (dramatic editing, incorporation of WWII footage, good writing, etc) with gameplay. The video needs to be visually impressive but also show off all of RO2's awesome features. We need something that I can link to a friend that makes them say "Holy ****! This game can have my babies! I want it. NOW."

GET TO IT!

Great example. Especially your last line.

I need something to actually SHOW my buddies. I honestly don't want to show them current footage. Some people who don't know what RO1 is like, won't appreciate the features of RO2 as much. At least in my opinion.

not only that grumms, to show people a lot of the current good stuff requires them watching some gdc 09, the 30 minute marquee dragon interview, and 20 minutes of the gdc11 stuff. So one hour to get them fully up to speed on the awesome. If we had a five minute trailer that covered even 50% of all of that info while showing it in gameplay it would be an excelent marketing tool for us enthusiasts to shove in everyones face..

I have also been trying to preach the holy word of HOES to my kameraden. However, like Colt said, they have to watch GDC and a whole mess of other videos to see the blinding glory of the game. Epic informative trailer that makes people want to poke eachother's eyes out with bayonets in the ruins of Stalingrad at release would be amazing. Yes.

Next to a trailer and stuff it would be nice if TWI did a big trailer in bits basically doing the same talk they have done for the GDC Gamescom pax etc, but then in high quality.

But beside features I and others probably definitely want to see some gameplay. And see how the bots organize themselves for instance at hard difficulty levels. And see how a mp match plays out.

Trailers take a lot of work i'm sure but just pumping out some videos showing how the game plays helps a lot as well. The only official video footage we have atm in the teaser trailer. We've seen more footage in that sense of BF2 which is supposed to release half a year later. Show some footage of a rambo twi dev like Xienen, and show some footage of a more cautious dev like Guppy.
