Gee wiz, I hope they push the release date back even further to do that!

What will make me avoid buying this game?

Uh, it never coming out first of all... :IS2:

Lol. Really? You're using that argument knowing what is in the game?

If the is-2, mg-42 or Tie Fighter isn't in the game, it's not because they were never there. It's due to balance within the video game.
Errr what? So you and The Masta actually thought I was serious?

Riiiiiiiight. C'mon guys.

Oh and ...
best....post....ever....

triple25mm, I would assume that people who play countdown have the objective in mind. If you attack and the objective is capped it should not come as a surprice. If you defend and the time runs out it should not come as a surprice, or if all atackers are dead then there is noone more to kill. I'd say it's a totally invalid fear =).

Someone asked what will stop me playing this game after i've bought it: Battlefield 3.

As for the OP: Too much tankservers, overdone supression effects(they look ok on the newest videos, but i would still like to feel them ingame myself), and if the game for some odd reason doesnt gather a good competetive scene.

I'm a little worried about the stats progression system. For one, I'm left wondering why it's even there in the first place... but regardless, after playing Killing Floor and being disappointed with how long it takes to raise your levels (150 hours in and only one level 6 class), I am a bit worried about progression speed in the this game.

I think that even if you grind to level up the "field promotions" should give those who do well or have more skill have a chance to get a shot at the specailized classes. And if you are worried about the unlocks i think they will be low enough that you can get most of them within 10 hours

Stupid thread... we wouldn't all be on this forum if we werent going to buy the game no matter what, anyone who hangs around on these forums and claims they aren't buying is a liar.

Gee, troll much?

I won't be buying this game, because of a lack of LAN. "Why would I post then?" you say.... because I know for a fact that they could add LAN if enough people wanted it, and didn't kiss up to them. If noone ever said "hey Ford, we won't buy your cars anymore unless you put the horse emblem back on the Mustang", the current, very cool retro stang would not exist. Same thing for the new retro challenger, had noone said "hey dodge, that thing your calling a charger isn't a muscle car, and if the challenger looks like that we won't buy it".

This game is set to be the most "true to PC gaming" game that has come out in the last 5 years, yet one of the most common PC game features that has been missing from most PC games for the last 5 years....is not going to be included.

I personally could live without mod tools, but LAN is a make or break for me.

(I still try to buy a real disk version of the games I buy too. Call me old fashioned, but I like being able to re-install a game in the middle of the desert where I am lucky to have electricity, not to mention internet access)

There's LAN in RO2. I was actually surprised to notice that feature since most games nowadays don't include it.

Nothing can make me avoid buying this game. All the other fps games don't come close to the standard of heroes.

I am really excited about everything although I am a bit worried how they will handel the hero system. I mean after everyone plays for a while and levels up will the whole team be made up of heroes? If so that would kind of defeat the purpose of having these inspiring heroes. (I am for sure buying this game:D)

What are you talking about????? There is LAN. There was LAN in Ost. Where is this supposed information about no LAN capability?

He's just pissed because all clients will need an internet connection to access multiplayer, and he won't be able to play it in a desert in Iraq. Not the first time he brings it up :)

However, LAN is still LAN, with or without the need to be connected to steam.

IMO it's a stupid question to ask, RO2:HOS is really the only FPS I'm excited for this year (though I'll see how BF3 turns out).

To me BF3 has taken back all that made it good and put OMFG l33t GrAfiX and Omg LOOK IMMA 50cal sniper with the highest KD I am sOo c00l.

And I'm never going to touch an EA server ever again!

HOS is the first game literally since RO1 that i'll pre-order as soon as I can, assuming its reasonably priced (on Steam ofc)

Saying that tho, in the back of my mind I am concerned a vocal group in beta may push for changes that moves the game away from what I liked about RO1, like easier SMG's, fewer bolts, higher limits on weapons, smaller maps, nade spam etc. With a small selection of players to take opinions from they could end up going the wrong way with the game but I doubt it. I wonder too if TWI are trying too hard to appeal to a wider player base as is suggested in the interviews and presentations.

I think TWI has a lot of respect for Valve and I believe are kinda close, so I do wonder if they will go for some kind of mini transactions for items in game similar to the TF2 model. I doubt it will be game affecting, but I would be surprised if they release without some optional charges, or at least add some later on. This would only bother me if it really affected the gameplay. Pay to win is a deal breaker ofc. TF2 went way too far with this
